if so, anyone got any tips? so mine's *technically* a fohawk (shortened nickname; faux hawk, as in fake... 'cause i ain't shaving the sides of my head to technically make it a mohawk =P but the same sort of result occurs...) and i'd like some input. right now my hair's pretty long for it -- like 5 something inches, and trust me, it takes a bit of gel for that stuff =P but i'm gonna get it cut soon. either way, anyone got any input on efficient ways to keep it up/put it up? i was surprised yesterday at how hard it stayed and how long it stayed in place, with hair gel and spray alone. heheh, i love it. my mom sighed, my dad shrugged, and my sister freaked out. oh, i love being me.
so yeah, any input?

heheh, thanks. what's really funny is my sister hates it, but my neighbors love it; i crack up at the notion. i'm running it past my youth group tonight, so that'll be fun. it's really cool to just get it out of my face and up out of my way in general; it's kinda handy, and i think it looks cool. and awesome that John had one...i'd love to see a pic of that, haha.

i personally hate the stuff, but i've heard that palmade works really well at keeping hair in weird positions for extended periods of time. of course, it's rather hard to get out of your hair since it's so slimy, but sometimes you gotta sacrifice for fashion's sake. ;)

haha! totally. i even had to squeeze a bit of gel *out* of my hair so it wasn't nearly as slimy. it's almost pretty much dry and solidified in position right now, and i did it about half an hour ago. i'll check out palmade, tho. thanks for the comment! ;P

as a professional I will tell you this you are going to have to blow it up with a nice helping of gel. You don't have to soak it with gel cuz it will take 10 years to do. However you also need to get some real stiff hair spray also. A little back combing will help. When each section is almost dry spray it good and blow dry into place. Then when the section is dry spray it again...and boing!!!!

skilletosis--awesome, much thanks for the input. yeah, today i was just thinking about where the hairdryer was...heheh. but i'll spray once more before i go. amazing how that stuff helps it stay firm; first time i used it i was surprised.
and Mike... gee, i wonder why... ;P

No idea, never done it.
But every year at Cornerstone when I see someone with just killer spikes, they always say they used elmer's glue mixed with water.

I've only done a faux hawk as well. I use hair glue (not elmers), hair cement, egg whites, lots of hair spray.
i've heard that as well. never had the guts to try it tho.
why? it washes right out. :P
This guy at Creation last year had a good one... but I wanna know how Will McGiness makes his hair stand up so well...

Yeah, my older sister gave her friend Peter a mowhawk using Elmer's, but she made a complete mess of her bathroom! It took her forever (and many tubes of glue) to get is long hair to stand straight up, but it was awesome when it did, though!

My older sister was joking around the other day because my mom was asking her how she was going to fix her (short) hair for her wedding (which is in two weeks!), and my sis was like, "I should get you (me) to do it up in a mohawk! That would be awesome for my wedding!" I think (hope) she was just trying to freak out my mom!

Nina, I can't deside which is worse. The thought of you picking that term up from playing unreal, or somewhere else and it making me think of unreal. In any case, I think I am going to go play Unreal Tourn 2k4. I should pick a character with a mowhawk to make this post on topic...
