I am not talking about 'let me just pick a verse and share it for the sake of the post' or 'pointless verse posting' since all verses aren't pointless. I mean random as in...we all learn something. :o If you feel God pressing you to share a verse or a passage, share it, and if you have anything to add to it, share it. 8)

NIV:Galatians 3:4
Have you suffered so much for nothing–if it really was for nothing?
We don't suffer for no reason at all - when we look back on a trial we can use it in our testimony!
NIV:Galatians 1:10 Am I now trying to win the approval of men, or of God? Or am I trying to please men? If I were still trying to please men, I would not be a servant of Christ.
And also in:
NLT:Galatians 3:4 You have suffered so much for the Good News. Surely it was not in vain, was it? Are you now going to just throw it all away?
Again, we are all going to suffer SOME amount if we are passionate for God. It wasn't for nothing, and we can't get over a hard time and just dismiss it - we have to share it in our testimony and acknowledge that we learned something throughout it.

Colossians 3:12-14 "Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity."
This is like all that God's been speaking to me through His word these past few days. We really need to live with these virtues and stuff because we can impact the world if we set ourselves apart like this.

James 1:2-4 (NIV)
Consider it pure joy my brothers, when you face trials of many kinds, because the testing of your faith develops preserverance. Preserverance must finish its work so that you maybe mature and complete, not lacking anything.
This verse has been one that I have committed to memory. It just shows me that there is a reason for everything. I can tell you that I personally have had many various trials that if I were not to have gone through them I would not be the woman I am to day. I am more complete in Christ because of my trials. He has carried me through, although at times I did not see.

Growing in the Knowledge of God
3 As we know Jesus better, his divine power gives us everything we need for living a godly life. He has called us to receive his own glory and goodness! 4 And by that same mighty power, he has given us all of his rich and wonderful promises. He has promised that you will escape the decadence all around you caused by evil desires and that you will share in his divine nature.
5 So make every effort to apply the benefits of these promises to your life. Then your faith will produce a life of moral excellence. A life of moral excellence leads to knowing God better. 6 Knowing God leads to self-control. Self-control leads to patient endurance, and patient endurance leads to godliness. 7 Godliness leads to love for other Christians, and finally you will grow to have genuine love for everyone. 8 The more you grow like this, the more you will become productive and useful in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But those who fail to develop these virtues are blind or, at least, very shortsighted.

my scripture of the day comes from James 1:2-18
2Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; 8he is a doubleminded man, unstable in all he does.
9The brother in humble circumstances ought to take pride in his high position. 10But the one who is rich should take pride in his low position, because he will pass away like a wild flower. 11For the sun rises with the scorching heat and withers the plant; its blossom falls and its beauty is destroyed. In the same way, the rich man will fade away even while he goes about his business.
12Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.
13When tempted, no one should say, "God is tempting me." For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does he tempt anyone; 14but each one is tempted when, by his own evel desire, he is dragged away and enticed. 15The, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is fullgrown, gives birth to death.
16Don't be deceived, my dear brothers. 17Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like the shifting shadows. 18He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be kind of firstfruits of all he created.(NIV)
i know it's long but i think it makes a good point and helps us to live through our trials.

Ok since nothing's been posted up for a little while here's another piece of scripture for the day. I think everyone knows it.
John 3:16-17
For God so loved the world that He gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
It's pretty obvious why I chose this verse. We all need to remember it. Sometimes we can lose sight of how much God really loves and cares for us and when we do that, we start to fall away in our faith. When we remember that God loved the world enough to send his only son to die for us and save us from our sins then we will be able to show him what that sacrifice meant to us. We obey him because of what he gave for us to be with him.

Romans 5.3-5 NLT
We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they are good for us--they help us learn to endure. And endurance develops strength of character in us, and character strengthens our confident expectation of salvation. And this expectation will not disappoint us. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love.

Avoid Divisive Persons
Paul instructs in Romans 16:17-20 to "note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them. For those who are such do not serve our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly, and by smooth words and flattering speech deceive the hearts of the simple. For your obedience has become known to all. Therefore I am glad on your behalf; but I want you to be wise in what is good, and simple concerning evil. And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly."

I was searching the Bible the night before I posted this, and I just suddenly came across Lamentations, and decided to search it for a verse that had meaning. Well, my Bible, the kiddie Bible it is, as the basic ones blown up under "Words To Remember." This is the only "Words to remember" in Lamentations, but I read it and decided it was more than that; it is very important, and I think it teaches us patience in trials. James 5:
7 Dear brothers and sisters, you must be patient as you wait for the Lord’s return. Consider the farmers who eagerly look for the rains in the fall and in the spring. They patiently wait for the precious harvest to ripen. 8 You, too, must be patient. And take courage, for the coming of the Lord is near.
9 Don’t grumble about each other, my brothers and sisters, or God will judge you. For look! The great Judge is coming. He is standing at the door!
10 For examples of patience in suffering, dear brothers and sisters, look at the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. 11 We give great honor to those who endure under suffering. Job is an example of a man who endured patiently. From his experience we see how the Lord’s plan finally ended in good, for he is full of tenderness and mercy.
12 But most of all, my brothers and sisters, never take an oath, by heaven or earth or anything else. Just say a simple yes or no, so that you will not sin and be condemned for it.

He will not resent your asking. 6 But when you ask him, be sure that you really expect him to answer, for a doubtful mind is as unsettled as a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. 7 People like that should not expect to receive anything from the Lord. 8 They can’t make up their minds. They waver back and forth in everything they do.

i read this today and it got me thinking.
2 Kings 17:33 (New King James)
"They feared the Lord, yet served their own gods..."
what can we say of ourselves? for instance, i believe in God and i don't want to go to hell. but is there something in my life that i hang onto so much that i place it before Him and it becomes a god? it could be the internet, vanity, music, social life, bf/gf, husband/wife, money, etc.
it really got me thinking and asking the Lord once again to go through my heart and clean out what is unclean. purge me of the things not from Him. let only what remains be what He placed inside of me. a dangerous (and desperate) prayer for holiness.

my fave verse for the past 2 or 3 days has been Ecclesiastes 1:14...
"I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and indeed, all is vanity and grasping for the wind".
I just think it's a good reminder that we shouldn't get all caught up in the things of this world, but to remember that it's not gonna make a bit of difference when we die. (I'm talking about little things that people tend to worry about (clothes, weight, looks, who "likes" whom, etc.), rather than sins or actions that actually do make a difference after death)

Agree with eachother, love eachother, be deep-spirited friends. DOnt push your way to the front, don't sweet-talk your way to the top. Put yourself aside, and help others get ahead. Don't be obsessed with getting your own advantage. Forget yourselves long enough to lend a helping hand" ~Philippians 2:1-4
