It appeears my PC is virus infested at the moment... 293 of them. Some Worm named PE_JEEF.A that locks up everything and won't allow ANY .exe's to open.
Until I get it sorted I'm not gonna be on much. I really really hope its sorted soon.
See you later.

O...K.
As for me I have had to remove my AIM and Y! screenames from panheads, because I use Trillian. But my Trillian has been messing up my computer, so all I have now is MSNM. Pray that things work out well because many of my panhead friends can only communicate with me that way. Thank you.

For future protection, it might be advisable to get Adaware software, which is free and easy to install. It can check whenever you demand it to see what parts of the computer are infected. You then have the power to quarantine and delete the stuff.
Check out firewall software; I know there's Norton Antivirus and McAfee out there. Those are the most common.
Glad to hear you got all the problems figured out though. Viruses and worms are a real pain. I got on last September on my computer. I wasn't fun.

I'll tell you what, I had a machine in this week that broke records for me. The girl had the computer for around 3 years and never once cleaned it, ran a virus scanner, cleaned files, ect. Well, this is what her computer had:
Adware: 712 Registeries
Viruses: 46220
It took me 7 hours to work on because the stupid thing was so slow. It would take me about 15-20 minutes on reboot.
But yeh, I use ad-aware professional on all the computers that come in. It's a really good product and they keep it updated.

Hm, terrasin, this ad ware... is it on cd? I mean, can you go out to like Wal*Mart and buy it? 'Cause I have a pretty good virus protection, but I know it oculd be so much better...

If its the same Adaware I'm thinking of, it's free. It's a free anti-spyware program. Just goto google and search for it! It's pretty popular so its not hard to find.

I had a little virus infestation myself. You see, my Norton Antivirus expired, and I continued surfing the web after its expiration. ::] Smart move, I know. I had a couple hundred viruses. However, all is well and I have no more virus troubles.

I was just wondering..does any one know of a good anti spyware program that I can [legally] download for free? Everything I have download is a free trile [spell]. And I already have Ad aware. thanx for your help in advance.
Try getting spybot. I don't know what their website is so google it or something.

Apparently Adaware is better than Spybot. I've used both and Adaware finds more than Spybot does

I suggested AdAware For my dad. His computer racks in Spyware daily. Mine, though, is more invulnerable to it. ;D

O, how I like Windows! We got a brand new Dell this summer, and today I found out it had a serious virus, which I guess, dumps your whole system. But Windows automacticly [spell?] shutsdown to save your system. {or something like that}

ha, we have like 10 different virus and adware programs we leave on constantly. i guess you could say we're a lil paranoid. but, then again, we've had hundreds of viruses infect our computer at once before. so i guess we have a good excuse.

I guess I'll fit in my 2 cents here. :)
I have a program made by my good buddies at Computer Asociates that scans your whole computer every 15 seconds for every known viruses that they (or even me) know of. If there's a virus, they show a window that shows what the virus is, what it does to the file, where the infected file is, how the virus infected the file and all sorts of goodies about the virus and the infected file. Then, it cleans and repairs the file. On top of that, I have a firewall, anti-virus protection (with real-time updates of viruses) and the usual: pop-up blocker and spyware clean-and-delete-every-30-seconds).
That's right! I'm going high tech! :)

I got a worm W32/Sober.p@MM (yea thats its name evil thing grrr)through something dont know im assuming email but I never opened up anything suspecious so I dunno.
It froze my computer up couldn't click on anything . I do have a antivirus protection program but I guess that bug was tricky very tricky or it isn't up to date need to buy a new program .
Even though I deleted it ,Im guessing it wasn't deleted at all or it had more buddies hiding somewhere damn trojans. This is the second time my computer has been infected and crash, ::] I need to be more careful so it wont happen a third time.
