Ok, so far I've only gotten to the 20th chapter in the first book since a week ago. My bro got Tribulation Force, the movie, at Walmart, and after I watched it, I decide, I'll read the books, if the movies are this good, The books must be great.

Yeah, the books are far better (not to insult the movies in any way... they helped save me) and WAY addictive. This thread might get attached to the Books thread.

I couldn't get past the second book. I didn't like it. Why did you guys like them?

It's best summed up like this: "To each their own."

That is, I don't know :)

It's the only type of Christian fiction I could get into; action, Satan Vs. Christians... and in the later books there are entire segments in the book of Bible study intertwined with the story. Besides, I have grown to love the characters in it :)

My aunt sent the first four to me for my birthday a couple years ago... I just really got into them. First of all its so well written and more importantly its such a Godly book. I mean, with all this bad stuff out there its a great reminder that help is on the way.

Again, said better by someone else ::] ;)

I really do like them... it's them (but most importantly the second movie) that saved me... so it's like a part of me now, so to speak.

they realy give you a mental picture of what is to come and cause you to realy think about it. tho it's fiction it is based on the bible. I've read thru The Mark (buying books is real low on the list right now). I would love to read the rest of the series.

I've seen the movies, and my parents have bought all the books. The movies are great, but I still haven't gotten around to reading the books.

The best part about it is the closeness the characters obtain through Christ. Like when they meet new Christians, it's almost as if they've known them their whole life, and yet they know nothing about them... know what I mean?

I know what you mean... I SO would have loved a fuller sequel to Left Behind: The Movie. But the fire effects in it rock anyhow!! 8) *is easily pleased*

12 I think.

Yeah, there's 12, the 12th is "Glorious Appearing". But, my uncle thinks that a prequel is gonna be written.

I'm gonna be getting the next few for no cash cost, but it's because they belonged to my grandpa......

So far in the book, I'm up to chapter 23, my favorite character would have to be Rayford, it's just cool, cause he goes from being ignorant of God and is so impressed with himself, to being saved and trying to spread salvation.

God bless, Alien Soul

you should check out Frank Peretti's "This Present Darkness" and "Piercing the Darkness" then. :) good stuff there. a lot better than LB imo.

not to bash it, it is an easy-read series that gives good visuals of the final days (as Skilletosis said). however, i don't think that Jenkins and LaHaye are the best authors. besides, at about Desecration it seemed as if the books were getting repetitive. i'm read thruough Armageddon and, honestly, i don't really care if i don't get to read Glorious Appearing. i will if i get the chance, but i won't stress over it.

Nah, the authors are not very creative. They basically take a really cool story (Revelation) and make it boring. Tho I have read the 1st 10 books and like 25 of the kids series. The movies are ok, the 2nd one is better. Worth 5 bucks each. Check out the wallmart bargain bin.

I'll see if I can round up those books someday :)

Yeah, same here. I don't really stress about not getting to read that book/see that movie that I have been waiting for... unless I see unending Teaser Trailers :P lol

I never find books repetitive unless they are long... for me, books blend together seamlessly. Especially LB and HP and such like that.

Don't wanna rag on anyone bout not liking the books, but :P

Aparently, I'm not getting the next few books. My grandma told me that my grandpa had the first few, but she was wrong. But, oh well, I'll get them eventually, until I get the cas, or Christmas comes round, I'm just gonna have to settle for borrowing the books from my uncle.

Well, that's the thing, mike- I hate reaing something that is only 'so-so' or 'pretty-good', when I could be reading something much better. I agree, Frank Peretti is a MUCH better author (though he sometimes stereotypes his characters, like in the Hangman's Curse book).

I don't know, I just don't feel that the LB series is something I could get into. The whole presentation of the books kind of bothers me too. What if the End Times aren't how Lahaye and Jenkins make it out to be?
But oh well. Maybe sometime I'll try to read them again.

...That's why they called it fiction, I believe, because there is no way of know exactly how it is going to happen, but if that were the way it'd be, they made some fiction for entertainment. It's not really meant to be taken as Biblical truth, just more of a good read. It's not something I recommend to all, though, some may find it rather bland.

aliensoul_squire20

Like Disciple said, it's fiction. They just took what they read in the Bible and made a story of it. Heck, the Rapture and Tribulation could happen in 1,000,000 years from now for all we know. They just took what they learned and wrote up what the end days could posably be like in current days.

i totally hear you. really, one of the only reasons i'd (actually, the only reason) read the last book is to finish the series, see what happens. not because i care for the characters (i don't) or want to see how it ends (we know. duh! ::]) or because the authors have drawn me into their world (not really). it's just to give it closure so i won't be thinking in the back of my mind "what was in that last book?" i can stand not reading it, but at the same time i don't know if i can stand reading it. :P
