Very good idea Alex.

Gamemakers as in the program GameMaker? Or are you talking about something else?

I think he means those people who are fed up using the program becuase they can't read the language. HEY! I just made a Pac-Man Version of Robotic Conquest!

That doesn't answer my question. What Game Maker are you referring to? Game making in general? Or the specific program called GameMaker.

I think he means the program GameMaker. :\

I'm talking a bout the specific PROGRAM. The kind you download and the Icon is a red ball with a hammer on it. I use it to create Video Game Velocity's program, but I think that it is a little confusing for some people take for instance PHOENIX; after about a yaer, he has been able to create a Pac-Man Game. And he just edited some-one else's game. He still doesn't understand the language!

Right, good stuff. You're referring to the scripting right? I just use the drag-n-drop mostly. I'm used to V Basic, C++ and Java so I don't find it that difficult. It also lets me understand how some of the concepts work like keeping score, lives, health etc.

So! Here's a question for the helpfile:
Sprites - How to make good ones?

I can make good sprites. I took lessons from a sprite maker. You can see the sprites under Genaral discussion under "Cool Comics". Lemme attach a few things. These are some Bionicle Sprites I made. I was going to attach Robotic Conquest sprites, but the file was too big.

Cool sprites. how do you make good ones though?

09-17-2004, 10:33 AM
Well, since he learned from me, I'll tell you.

Use a 24-bitman paint file. Click the magnafy to x8 and click view and highlight zoom, and click "Show Grid" If you want to do detailed shading, you're goig to have to create your own colors. If you want basic shading, save your file as Jpeg. It also save memory on the hardrive.

Well, it seems that Alex has dissapeared. I haven't even seen him at work often? Anyways . . . Skynes, here are some Robotic Conquest Sprites. They are not final, but should show you some kind of idea.

I'm here! What do you mean by external program? I have a good idea, but I'm not sure exactly what you are asking. And Phoenix, don't forget that I helped make those sprites . . .!?!

10-04-2004, 12:38 AM
External Program meaning a program from outside of GameMaker (I think)

10-04-2004, 06:19 AM
I still don't know what he is saying though. If you mean, like another windows program, just minimize it and open the file of your choice, but if it is full-screen, change it in the options. Work?
