they dont write their own rapps, and theyre raps arent too great, really I have no respect for rappers who rap about drugs and girls all the time... Cross Movement is a band like D12 (has 4 mc's) and they do just fine not rapping about any of that, infact their new cd is probably the best one ive ever heard

You should know that almost all of the hip-hop in the 'secular' community is just plain outrageous. Dude, seriously... just because people say it's cool it doesn't make it cool... at all... and anything with Eminem in it is tasteless.

Rap is for people who talk all day. They listen to it because that's what it is: talking. That way, they can claim they listen to "music."

Rap is an art. It takes the right person to rap well. And as much as I don't like it [it=rap], I must say, it is not crap. We need to learn how to respect art. Emienm is garabe lyrically, and some what good cause after all, white men don't rap [well]

I never said rap wasn't an art. I just don't see how you can call it "music." In my mind, music is melodic and involves instruments, not a bunch of cuts and electronic sounds and turntables. I don't like rap. You can like rap, that's fine with me... as long as it is a Christian artist.

rap sucks plain ol truth. it does not take talent. it simply people that want to get into the music business, but cant play anything. So they start talking real fast, and have some synthetic music going on in the background, with some cheesy black guy break dancing.

I think if one likes at the history of rap, that she/he will think again. In short, African Americans used ryme and what we call rap [today] to express themselves. But rap has getten so misused and overrated in today's society.

What's with all the hatin Spartan? Also, looks like doormonke's got nothin else to say to me...for one. Rap can be a real art, get over it, lol. I don't like to listen to it that much (though some rap/rock can be good), you obviously don't, and I don't even think there's been a defender of atually listening to it on here! LOL

I think that this thread went awry when someone realize the genre we were looking at. This was strictly about D-12, but over time the focus was taken off of D-12 and placed on a genre battle.

That said, I can still listen to rap. ;D
