ok i was rewriting "American Idiot" to make it "Canadian Idiot". Now before you say im racist or whatever, REMEMBER GREEN DAY!! I have nothing against most canadians.
All that said, do yall have any suggestions for it? I still need a second verse.
Y'all Canadians are a bunch of idiots
You think Canada is better than America
Well i've got some news for you Canada
The reason for your existence is America
(Chorus)
I've got some new information
For you the Canadian nation
We are the reason you're okay
Without us there'd be no tomorrow
We are the ones that you should follow
Cause were not working for you
Yeah, any suggestions for the second verse?

umm..yeah ok. The song makes USA superior. Which we are not.. since we waste so much paper and i could go on. And all the nations rely on each other.

My suggestion is that you leave the song writing to Green Day.

well Green day, is way too "anti" everything, it seems like they try to get attention, by yelling out stupid phrases, like, "American Idiot". I just can't stand them, for all of their anti-America crap.

It's not "anit-American." It's simply their statement on politics and the way they feel the world looks today.

uh, dude, that's not very nice.
You may not like Canada, but if you ever sing that song in public, you may get stoned.
Check out "Macy's Day Parade" and "Hold On" from their WARNING CD and then we'll talk about whether or not Green Day doesn't "do a good job" writing lyrics.
c'mon Green Day made their new album for money... I don't like that at all (no offense to Anyone)

I like Green Day and all, but the song American Idiot is kinda dumb to me cause I feel they touch on all the wrong things and there's already way to freaking many anti/bash america/american things and it just feels cliche. Also, it's REALLY short and not even that great of a song overall in the end...
Oh, and I just re-read that Canada thing and felt the need to re-iterate that that's bullcrap...

I'd stone them if I got the chance. I find that song dishonorable for the country that made them who they are.

Ditto, except I think I'd throw in some boulders, and maybe a log or two, as well.

Well, you know I do have a Rottweiler that leaves presents all around the yard... so I could throw those at them. They aren't stones, then again I guess it would depend on how old they are...
Moving on, (as I am sure I might get a slap on the wrist for that... ehm.)
Yeah, I don't like this song. I don't even see why they air it on mtv or the radio.

Once again, I'm sorry

um, the thing is, Green Day is American. you, my friend, are not Canadian. if you sing a song bashing your own country, it's one thing. if you sing a song bashing another country, it's completely different. :-\
since this thread really has no merit and no visible redeeming value, i'm gonna lock it. any further discussion of "American Idiot" could be made into a Green Day thread. but remember, there are people who enjoy Green Day so be nice in how you say you dislike a song or a group. :)
