Hey guys, you here of the recent reuniting of Motley Crue, there back, i say why bother. But like the Stones and Fleetwood Mac, even the Beastie Boys, they're popular. ;D They will even preform on the VGA's tonight. I'm wondering why after all these years their coming back, come on man we moved beyonbd the 80's metal and big hair, or so i thought. What say you? ;D ;D ;D

yup, they said it. bands will always have fans. and it can be argued that no sound goes out of style.
(ie. the bands you mentioned, the beatles...all sorts of bands)

I like old music. But that's just because it's awesome! Only certain people at my school listen to classic stuff, and they are in two "groups," if I may call them that. There's the kind that like it for what it is, like myself. But there aren't so many of those. Then there's the kind who "like" it because it's different. For example, the skateboarders at my school like it because almost nobody else listens to it. After punk became popular, they moved on to something "different."
That's my philosophy. CLASSIC ROCK RULES!!!

I'm wondering why it matters. ??? I mean, from the sounds like you aren't gonna listen to it, so it shouldn't make a difference either way. ::]
That said, I enjoy Classic Rock. I don't think we ever "moved on" from Classic Rock, and I don't think it ever remained in the past. In fact, I think Classic Rock is still there, it's just called 80's Rock now. ;D It has never died, IMO. It just got reeeeeal quiet. ;)
I wouldn't solely keep the time frame confined to the '80s. A lot of good stuff from the '60s and '70s fit the mold. Classic rock will never ever ever ever ever die.

(It was just for an example. Some of my favorite Classic Rock is from the 60's and 70's.)

I'm really happy some of these bands are back. Duran Duran, Europe, ect. I grew up with their music. I can't wait to see some live stuff. :)

I will admit to you i do listen to a lot of old bands, now your right in one area i wont listen to Motley Crue, but i do listen to old bands just not the classic rock or real 80's metal. I do enjoy some good Blondie, Chicago and Eagles. All in all this was just a how do you feel about bands reuniting?

I was a bit disappointed with The Cure's new album. It just didn't really hit home. :\

I don't know about all these band breaking up and getting back together, though. But if they update their sound, then I guess I'll listen to them. Unlike Duran Duran, in which even today sounds like their old self.

I haven't listened to it except for a tiny bit of one song they did a video for, so I can't really offer an opinion. I just think it's neat that they tried. Morrissey too.

the 80's are coming back, and I defidently like it. Maybe not so much the style (like leg warmers as a fashion...yuck.) But I like the music. Especially 80's pop and music that sounds like 80's pop.

this is funny because just the other day my family was having a conversation about them coming back. we got to the conclusion that all of them got fat and their music is bad that they came back and did it , but i would never doubt them getting back up on the stage and rocking out, more power to em'.

you know what was horrible? when guns and roses tried to reunite that was horrible every one of them members where all burnt out and axl was fat and he couldent hit half the high notes he used to. but velvet revolver that band can rock hard they sound very good.

When GNR hooked back up, it wasn't really GNR. It was Axl with a bunch of different musicians. But yeah, poor Axl was in some pretty rought shape.

Nope, it was some guy they call Buckethead. He had a KFC bucket on his head. All the musicians were different.

Did they ever get around to releasing the new GnR cd? I heard it was coming out, then it wasn't, then it was again, then nothing...

I don't believe they ever did. Axl was up to his old tricks with not showing up for gigs on the reunion tour so I think the whole deal became defunct.
