i have the boss gt-6.
DustinRocks
12-26-2004, 02:57 PM
ummm I'll start with distortions i dont use these all at once i only use about one or two at a time: I have a boss OD-2 Dual Overdrive (thick rich voerdrive run it through a bassman and get a marshall), A Boss DS-1 Distortion( Iuse it for an almost, Boss MT-2 Hyper Metal (awesome for industrial), Danelectro Fab Tone(nutso makes single coils sound thick) and my baby my VIsual SOunds Jekyll Hyde OVerdrive it has two channels and ones got a sweet TS9 sound and the other is like a marshall plexi.
MOdulation: I have an Ibanez PM7 phase modulator, Ibanez PH7 Phaser, Ibanez CF-7 Chorus/FLanger,Visual SOunds Chorus/Echo way sweet and An IBanez Sound tank CHrous(its gives me thta C.C Deville tone), DOD Vibvrothang (kinda a phasey tremolo)
ect: Ibanez DE7 Delay, Boos Me-50 Multin Effect Unit, Earnie Ball Volume, Line 6 POD, Vox Wah, Zoom 505 Delay, Boss EQ
I liek all these pedals, True some of them arent used so mcuh anymore but thats just cuz tone changes and whatnot, but I'd reccomend any of these.

I have a Digitech multi-effects pedal. Sounded great with my small amp, but now that I got a half-stack, the distortion sounds like crap. Thinking about just getting a gain pedal or possibly one made by Boss.
DustinRocks
12-26-2004, 04:35 PM
what kind of half stack do you have
cloroxmartini
12-26-2004, 07:28 PM
i think when using a tube head, you don't need a distortion pedal. all you need would be a delay pedal, a reverb pedal, a chorus pedal, tremolo, etc...
DustinRocks
12-26-2004, 07:38 PM
unless its a lo gain head like Sunn, Fender Bassman or a marshall Jtm45
cloroxmartini
12-26-2004, 07:44 PM
well yeah. but with a mesa dual rectifier, nothing else is needed. lol
DustinRocks
12-26-2004, 10:30 PM

A Marshall Valvestate 100. The pedal makes it sounds crappy. The built-in distortion sounds better than what I'm using.
Bassplayer
12-27-2004, 07:23 PM
I have a BOSS ME-33. It's an older pedal but it has some great sounds on it. I would like a newer one but money's kind of tight right now.

12-28-2004, 06:07 AM
I'd like to get just a plain distortion pedal. That would really help me out.

go to amazon.com or musican's friend.com and search for it. That would give you an idea. But those sites usually never sell something for the retail price.

I got a Zoom GFX-8, Digitech Whammy, Digitech Metal Master (I like it better than the Metal Zone, plus it can simulate the Metal Zone), and a Zoom 506 (which is for Bass). But I do have and Mesa Boogie Cab and just got the Triple Recto (I think that's the head Ben uses.) Man that sucker's loud I use the head for Distortion and the GFX-8 for various effects Wah, Delays, flange etc.
If you want the Invincible type distortion, turn down the treble alot, up the mid, and have a decent amount of Bass. I not exactly sure if that's true but just listening to Invincible that's what it sounds like. I'll have ta try it out for myself to double check.

i went through my musicians friend catalog the other day and calulated how much it would be if i got all the things i wanted in there. it turned out to be something like 6,410 dollars. so yeah, ten thousand dollars would be ideal i think.
Bassplayer
01-08-2005, 06:08 AM

I don't use any pedals at the moment, but I'll probably get some soon . Iv started playing for my church. All I have as far as amps is a Johnston Stage 50 ( broken) and a borrowed Peavy Rage 158 ( not that great) so I'm gonna try to get the funds for a Carvin MTS 3212 then maybe a chorus, delay, and flange effects and just a footswitch to switch between clean and distorted

the pedals i currently own are the boss sd-1 super overdrive, digitech grunge distortion, and digitech multi chorus. the only pedal i really use tho is the boss overdrive cuz my amp has like everything else. the amp i own is a fender dyna-touch deluxe 900 combo amp. it's an amazing amp

niceness. right now i only have a DigiTech Metal Master distortion, a Boss SD-2 Overdrive, and a Boss ME-33 Multi-effects (which kinda sucks) i'd like to get some chorus, reverb, delay, and modulation pedals but right now money's gotten tight.
