Tommy Lee ;D Motley Crue rocks!!!!!
I think drummers from hardcore bands are annoying... i mean sitting there pedaling away at the double bass pedal isn't playing... its more like a workout machine... Peter Furler (singer of the newsboys)m is pretty good... on the Step up to the microphone tour he and their drummer played on 2 different sets on a spinning tilted platform, which rocked...

Yes, Lori is an awesome drummer. And the drummer from Korn is cool as well. Even though I don't like the song, the one that stands out in my head is "Make Me Bad"... that's some great drumming...

For me, I can't narrow it down to one drummer but here's a list:
Ryan "Nik" Vikedal-Nickelback
Aaron Gainer-12 Stones
Marco Minnman-Illegal Aliens, Solo
Thomas Lang-Solo, B*Witched
Jeremy Hummel-Breaking Benjamin
and Lori Peters-Skillet
There's more but it's late at nigh and I need to go to bed so I can make rehersals tomorrow.

I like drummers who groove well. Neil is a great drummer because of many things. Just because he has one of the most elaborate sets, doesnt make him the best. Buddy Rich is a contender. Neil and Buddy, and Gene Krupa are all great because they also have a feel to how they play. Just like Carter from Dave Matthews. Will from Living Colour was another great drummer too. Lori rocks! No question to that, as well as Lester from Pillar, Rob from Stryper, and Will Denton. I like them all because they have technical abilities, yet you can feel the grooves and the styles are somewhat distinct.

i know i didnt say he was the best drummer because of his set i had no idea what he set looked like and i though he was an exceptional drummer but i just thought he had a very very awsome set. and you have to admit to play that set well you need a good deal of experience. so i just want to clarify that im not judging him by his set cause before i saw it i just wondered how in the world he played so many differnt beats and so fast. i personaly think that he is the greatest and that the song moby **** is one of the best drum instrumentals ive ever heard

Sorry if I seemed to be a know it all. Just a deep subject for me. Neil knows what he is doing better than I, like a ton better, but I could have a ton of fun with his set. years ago, Modern Drummer magazine had a contest to win a replica of his set and all cymbals were included. I entered, thus I lost, oh well. A good drummer can do a bunch without all that stuff, and I know Neil could, but he is very good to where he is not only a percussionist, but somewhat of a composer also. I would call him a diverse musician. He also plays in an orchestra as well, so he is great in different fields.
Yeah . . .
Pillar's Drummer is good in both Bring me down, and Further . . .

Plillar got different Drummers between Fireproof and where do we go from here? So those are seperate drummers ;)
Neil Peart is awesome because he can thrown his sticks in the air, catch them, and not miss a beat... the set behind him is for the orchestra sounds... he used to have gongs and bells behind him... but he just plain rocks..

It's actually one HUGE drumset. I saw it at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame in Cleveland and I saw Neil Peart perform on his set on a DVD that I got from a magazine. He's one good drummer!
Edit: By the way, I forgot to add that that's his newer set. The emblem on the tom and the snare is the dead giveaway. This is his 30th anniversary set.
The amazing thing is that he uses all of his set...

Torry Castellano of the Donnas. \m/ \m/ Its really sad about her severe wrist tendonitis, she had surgery and now wears a wrist brace. She has had to lighten up her drumming quite a bit.

The third is Michael McNeil whom I'm not to sure of

You could play a long drum solo and never hit the same toms twice! I can't ever see myself wanting that many toms. In fact, I don't think I could go with more than 6 without feeling weird about it, put that is preference.

Are there no fans of the venerable Dream Theater in here? Mike Portnoy has got to be the best active drummers on the planet right now. He also does his own clinics across the country and is a reagular submitter to Guitar world and such. He's done work on Liquid Tension Experiment among others. Check him out. My fav drummer right now is Bryan St. Pere from Hum. An unknown drummer from a relatively unknown band. Very cool dude.

never seen them live im too young and i dont like there new stuff so its pretty pointless to go to there shows. so i just listen to there old junk. which is awsome.
he he.. I went to a small concert (has Skillet, Audio A, and FIF at it) that this local band, jasper, was playing at, and the drummer tried to set his cymbals on fire and play, well we were under a tent and it was raining, one of the holes in the tent was right above his cymbals, so the gas wouldn't light on fire. He kept playing and his bass drum slid away from his set and he got angry and kicked his set over and walked off the stage, the band finished the song withouth drums and they had to finish early. I thought that was odd to see a local band player disrespect his set like that, i mean, money doesn't grow on trees. But oh well...

Mark mathias is really good (Seventh Seal) he listens to a metronome when he plays so he doesn't get off beat, which some drummers can have problems with

Lori is flat out awesome when it comes to intensity. You don't usually see that type of intensity (especially from chick drummers, no offence to any out there).
Neil Peart is awesome when it comes to shear skill. Being able to move in that set looks hard enough, but being able to coherently play it has got to be difficult.
However, the most awesome drummer I would have to say is the dude from Def Leppard. I think his name is Rick Allen. He lost his arm in a car accident yet didn't miss a beat (no pun intended). He even designed a special pedal board so he can play with one hand but still play as if he had two. If you listen to him you can't even tell he has only one arm. That is talent.
Peace
