This thread is about helping people find bands they'd like, and getting a push in the right direction for some bands.
I was wondering if anyone knew a good metal band. Not Lacuna Coil stuff, or fast death metal with bad vocals. I want a real metal band with some developed vocals. Screaming is alright as long as I can tell what they're singing.

If you classify Disciple as metal...Disciple rocks!

I never really liked them. :-\ I'm looking for sort of Dark Tranquility/Nightwish riffage with some good vocals.

Skelfy, can we also clarify which CDs to get from a band? 'cause i'd like to get a U2 album, but i'm not sure which one i should get.
i've always wanted to get into U2, but I just can't, I just don't feel a vibe...

yes. That's what I aimed with this thread. Hopefully everyone can find a good cd by a band or just a band to get into.
I don't listen to U2 really...so I wouldn't know. :-\

Supposedly, The Joshua Tree is one of U2's best. So I've heard.

Yeah, my mom likes that album..she doesn't own it tho. [got it from the library once.]
I really like The Used, as far as sound. But their lyrics are iffy..Is there a Christian band that sounds like them?

Dead Poetic might be as close as you're gonna get.

Yeah, Dead Poetic is great...and The Juliana Theory is another great if-you-want-to-call-it-that "emo" band, though they are "not" Christian...

I don't really know a whole lot of metal bands but check christianhardrock.net to search for a good metal band.
By the way, Deamon Hunter is from my neck of the woods. The drummer and I work at the same recording studio: East End. He says hi.

Well, if you want "Christian" Death Metal, some bands like: Zao, Extol, Haste The Day, Mortal Treason, Living Sacrifice, Soul Embrassed, As I Lay Dying, are all good bands. Most of those are on www.purevolume.com, if not, then at www.myspace.com.

they are good if you like constant screaming. I like screaming, but norma jean is just a little bit too much for me.
