I'm sorry to all those who crave and adore soda and coffee.

Studies have shown that caffiene is not at all healthy for your body.
It is connected to weight problems, stress, headaches, and all sorts of bad things.

But now the coffee lovers have a substitute:Teecino

It tastes exactly like coffee, but without the caffiene

All I have to say is: 1) I hate almost all things "herbal", 2) substitutes aren't always better (like sacarin the wonderful sugar sub, which can casue cancer with high enough quantities ::], besides which it tastes like crap!), and finally 3) caffiene can actually help get rid of headaches

I don't know if caffiene can get rid of headaches but I know that it's not the best for you.
Did you know that coca cola can eat the rust off of a nail?

*GASP!!!*
Caffine isn't good for me?! OMGOOSES!!! I had no clue!!! Next I suppose you will tell me smoking is bad for me too!

On a serious note, (and no, I don't smoke so plz don't IM me asking me if I do...) I drink a lot of things with caffine. My coffee and my cuppas I must have. However, I've started to drink less soda because of the amount of sugar and such that is in it. I've been drinking a lot of this new stuff called XS that's a healthy alternitive.

While I believe that caffine isn't the best for you, what sense does it make to watch one thing and do another? Ever see someone go into McDonalds, order a double quarter pounder with cheese, large fries, supersize it, and get a Diet Coke? I mean, comeon... ;)

I love coffee and soda, but caffinee actually causes headaches. You GET headaches from a lack of caffinee if your use to it. That's why people that drink a lot of caffinee that suddenly stop drinking it get horrible headaches. Caffinee is obviously not good for you, but you can always get decafe (sp?) coffee and caffinee-free soda.

Caffeine isn't good for you but as long as you don't drink it in huge amounts you'll be fine. I love coffee but it isn't like I drink it all the time. :) Oh well!

caffiene has never cured me of a headache. it usually causes my headaches, actually. ::]
and I don't drink soda much, and I've only had a regular (non-decaf) coffee once in my life, so I think I'm probably ok (at least on the caffiene front... sugar, on the other hand.... ::] :lick: )

So how exactly does caffeine cause headaches? :P

I suffer from chronic migraines and the best way that I've found to get rid of a headache fast, is to take 2 excedrin (which has caffeine in it) and drink something with caffeine in it. But on the flip side, yes too much caffeine is bad for you. There have been cases of teenagers developing heart disease because of all the caffeine they were taking in. But those teens were drinking upwards of 4 2 litre bottles of Mountain Dew EVERYDAY! :o

from what i've heard and seen, caffiene is like ritalin, it does different stuff for different people. if you get headaches, it can help stop them. if you don't, it can help create them. (ritalin helps hyper people calm down, but it makes most people hyper.)

i'm with skilltroks and riz, i can drink a can of Mountain Dew before going to bed and be completely fine. :) which is why i stay away from coffee. tastes bad and the caffiene doesn't work on me, so why drink it?

my parent's theory is "everything in moderation". You're probably fine just having a little caffiene every day, just like everything else. fat in moderation won't cause weight gain, but gorging yourself on fatty foods will. same principle.

Guys, I kind of just made this thread to see what you thought.
Most ordinary people are aware that caffiene isn't good for you.
I'm very hypocrytical(today I had 2 cups of mint coffee, it wasn't decaf either)

I'm trying to eat healthier, and I just really wanted to see your views on that particular subject.

I used to like coffee a lot, but I've strayed from it for two reasons. One, ever since June or so and my allergic reaction to some antibiotics, I've somehow developed a bit of a sensitivity to caffiene. So I can only have a little more than half a cup of coffee or I get odd and shaky. It's not bad, it's just annoying. But if I have one of those frappuccinos from Starbucks... it's not a pretty sight. And two, it makes me have to pee a lot, haha. So, I don't drink much coffee. But lately I've been living off of hot chocolate.

Well, in all those cities my parents would be like "Greg, you have to try this, maybe you'll like this kind." And reluctantly, I'd try it, and hate it. I still try it every year to see if it changes. I tried it on January 1st of this year, and it was terrible.

I used to want coffee as a kid, I have been known to chug down a whole mug -and when I say mug, I don't mean small-, in one gulp, of course it had tons of sugar that drowned that dreadful taste.
