so last weekend i spent my time doing the 30hr Famine.

and what did you do to pass the time? ;)

I did the 30hr famine Thursday to Saturday, I did 48hrs cuz I told the child I sponsor I would... and it was soooooo fun. Our church did service projects, in fact we met up with 10 churches at this youth center an hour from my church, it was a blast. I passed my time by thinking about food, and my tummy still hasn't gotten back to not being hungry, which is cool...

Thirty-hour famine? What?

The thirty hour famine is a fundraiser for starving children. For every hour you fast, you get so much money twards your child for food (depending on your sponsers). I wanted to do it, but I had to do things :P

Hey my youth group did the 30 hr famine last year and again this year. There's a national one (maybe just Canada?)on April 1st to 2nd. yeah so if you're interested contact world vision they'll hook you up with an individual package or group packages that include prizes and stuff for people who raise the most money. Yeah you can totally turn it into like a contest and stuff. But yeah, I find that if you actually talk about food, it kinda helps. We were like 20 hours in and was like "OH man, I could totally go for McDonalds!" Yeah. Oh yeah and we also got together with another church and did it with their youth group as well.

Shanise- you sound like my teacher. lol. my school is doing the famine, but i still need to convince my mom to let do it, she claims it's unhealthy

and CJ, I do it for the childrens sake, its not really starving, not eating for a week is starving, it makes you realize how much pain those children go through. 29,000 kids die everyday...

k guys, AMAZING news, World Vision recieved a bunch of government grannts, so all the money your church collected is gonna be multiplied by 7!!!! So my church has raised 2100 so far and that will eb turned into 14,200.... this is soooo sweet....

30 hour famine is awesome. I did it once with an old youth group of mine, but then we moved and I haven't found anyone doing it since. :(

hey my youth group was on the news, WBOC and some other station i cant remember and we were in the news paper ;D ;D
during the time we fasted we went boweling, then the next day we did Hopt Totes for the homeless. ;D it makes me feel all warm inside...and normally i inside i feel cold :evil:
