I've been holding off on making this thread for a while, I don't know why, but I'll make it now. This summer, between my junior and senior years in highschool, I'll be doing basic training for the National Guard. I want to ask for prayer that I'll succeed, do the best I can, and learn as much as possible, thanks.

I'll be 17 by the time I start. I think they call it the "Junior Program" and they let you do your basic training in the summer, so that when you've graduated from highschool, you'll already be ahead of the game.

Hey that is awesome that you are joining the guard. I will definitely pray for you. Hang in there, you will succeed! So can i ask what prompted you to the national guard? Anyway, it is cool that you had taht desire. Man, it is okay that you hesitated to make this thread. But even if you think it a silly thing to ask for prayer about, Christ wants to hear our every desire, so it isn't silly at all! Cheers.

Thanks for your prayers. A lot of things prompted me to do this. First, I've always wanted to serve my country somehow; I wanted to do airforce, but due to a few things I won't get into right now, that wouldn't work out the way I want it, so I decided that the National Guard would be good because I can train early, and transfer to Army branches (my dream is to be in the special forces). Secondly, I need to pay for college somehow, and they'll do it for me. Lastly, as far as I can remember, I felt a calling for it.

ill definitly be praying. that so rocks!! i was planning on maby going in to the airforce or army after highschool.
a very good frined of mine leaves in august for basics hes in the airforce.

I think it's a great thing that you are ready to serve our country. It shows great maturity. I was way to rebelous and immature to enlist. I woulda been out on my ear in less than a week.

It's a great thing. You are doing the right thing. Plus, the military is open to those who are seeking a career who haven't found it yet. Or it is to some anyways. My friend didn't stay there, but then again she was homesick and had difficulty running.

Hey man, that is soo cool that your in the guard. My dad commands all of the guard in Colorado, so if ever feel like tranfering for any reason, give me a call and ill hook you up. This is a cool quote that my dad uses when he speeks at soldiers funerals; (oh and good luck with guard bro)

Thanks everyone, but it turns out that I'll have to wait until next year for basic training, but I'm taking my job qualifying test and medical tests etc next tuesday and wednesday.
