I haven't been online here much quite a bit of stuff is happening this month. My friend's mom is going through some rough times. More of it below.
From her email:
" spoke to the Dr. this morning with my sister, Valerie. It was as we excepted. It is leukemia, AML (which is the type) it is not the worse type of AML because there are two types. But acute means acute you don't have it just a little or a lot you just have it. The bad news first of course. The problem they find with this type of AML is the relapse rate and best results is with high doses of chemo. The bad news is that Mom's age will pay a major factor in the dosage. Because of her age her body probably will not tolerant high doses. She will get the lest dosage. Hopefully this will send it into remission for a long time. Typical dosage is 7+3, then if needed 5+3. Which is the extent of the chemo and drug type. Then retest of bone marrow. Major thing to pray for now and to watch for is infection and how she does with the chemo. In other words how sick she'll get with the chemo. And of course keeping her attitude up when she is not well. "
The rest of the family and her are not doing well, especially her Dad. They have been married for a long time so that attachment is there. Sister just lost her husband recently so this is another emotional event for her. My friends kids are close to thier grandma and they are hurting right now. Her brother to is emotional state as well. She has not been doing well, she is been getting lack of sleep and usually her sleep is like 4-5 hours a day as a normal routine and now is like only 3 hours a day it sounds like.
As for me all the times I was talking to her on the phone, I really didn't have a whole lot to say. I need your prayers as well so that God can use me and give me words of encouragement.
