Is it supposed to be based on something? I guess if the question is do you believe in ghosts my answer would be yes/no. No in the ghosts, yes in the demons - put simply.

yea, its suppose to be based on a true story but ppl say it was a big hoax but i dont know .oh yea heres a description its about a family that accidently moves into a haunted house. Then all sorta creepy things take place and thats basically it.

just a theory...but maybe "ghosts" are really demons? or of course it could just be natural phenomenon. *shrugs*

That's no theory. That's the truth. Ghosts are in fact demons in disguise. Demons are master shape-shifters and liars, they can make themselves appear as anything or anyone.

You should have a talk with me sometime. I know several people who've had very real experiences with demons and more. I also hold to the belief (thought it was my own when I was younger), that aliens, ghosts, etc. are simply demons, and that's only been solidified through the years.

Well there is a big article on the Amityvill Horror in the latest People Magazine and its about the guy who lived there and the Murders and such. I suggest reading it if you are interested in this.

i saw that in people magazine too. my sister got the book the movie was based on and i only read the back cover. that night i couldn't sleep without hearing noises... i really don't like scary movies and stuff.

I try to avoid any movies that deal with the occult or demons in anyway. I don't want anything to do with that side of stuff. I don't mind scary movies that perhaps are "ghosts" but once they begin with wierd stuff, I'm out.

it was so stupid thought it was going to be better uh, oh well.

i think that stuff can happen demons roam the earth so why wouldnt they raise hell.i have a nephew who use to play with the ouiji and black magic and the demons started to torment him. he almost went to the point of insanity and he threw out most of his stuff and prayed, but the demon is still there and now him and his family are moving cause they can not take it. sadly i dont think thats gonna rid the demon know what i mean

I definitely think that demons work at satan's will to try and make us all fall, but I think it is more through presenting us with temptation and putting us in bad situations rather than the demons actually presenting themselves as a demon. Unfortunately, this seems much more effective because we may not realize that it is happening.

As for the Amityville horror thing, I don't think that what the popular perception is what actually happened. As numerous others have stated, you are either on earth as a human, in Heaven, or in hell, there is no inbetween.

stuff like that freaks me out and i have no idea what to think about it all.

what i don't understand is why the people didn't leave after they realized the house was huanted.

they had to make it more supencefull if thats even a word

last year i studied a little bit about ghosts and demons and such, kinda to develop my own theory on it.

first i didnt know what to think about ghosts. becuz i always thought that when a person dies they go straight to heaven or hell. but then theres all those verses that says God is gonna gather the dead from the earth and all that. and i was a little confused.
but i think, that after reading ppl's accounts on witnessing ghosts, i would almost certainly say that they are demons. while there are some accounts of "friendly" ghosts, more often they put big fear in ppl's lives. which reminds me of the devil.

but i was thinking, why would demons need to haunt a house? or be concentrated on an area that might be abondaned.
im thinking that at one time the family living there, somehow opened the door wide for demons... maybe with dabbling in the occult. or indian witch doctors on the land before that. and that place become kind of a headquarter/ roosting ground for the demons.
and, i think that would explain the high concentration of supernatural activity.

anyways. thats just a few of my thoughts.

as for the Amityville house, i saw something on one of those entertainment news programs (i was in between shows, ok) where the son in that family says that a lot of the stuff that is in the movie is exaggerations off of the father's own exaggerations. he said there was some freaky stuff, but nothing anywhere near what the book or the movies say.
