I have a nice variety of friends, but one group in particual is really on my mind lately. The "class clowns" one could say have really been disrespectful to others and most of them are racist. They also degrade others like those who dont look perfect or may be nerdy.
I have been with them lately trying to help them change their ways, and I just got in a big fight with one just within the past hour. I was trying to point out what he is doing is wrong, but he went off and I used the Bible and dictonary against him. All 4 of them are proclaimed Christians, but they do everything against what Jesus says about love.
Please pray for me to have the power to help them really find God and thankfully God has already given me some power to stand up as it is. Im afraid for them that they will say something wrong to the wrong person and will get in extreme pain and guilt. The fight I was just in was talking with one of them about his racism, and how he said "we are all somewhat racist". He says a lot his stuff openly and the thing that ended the conversation was when I said "If u read ur Bible you know that ur words are as powerful as ur actions." So please pray for me I need to the power help them and please pray for them becuase I can see great potential in them.
Thanks much,
Sully...

I made it seem like all class clowns are rude and racist, which is wrong. Note: Im just talking about the ones I know...

it is obvious that God has given you a heart for those people and that is awesome. one thing i want to remind you is that you cannot change them. only the Holy Spirit, once allowed, can bring change into a person's life from the inside out. when we try to change someone in our own strength and ability, it comes across as "shoving the gospel down their throat". God cares about them right where they are at.

i would encourage you to stop debating with them and instead, be their friend. no that does not mean that you have to join in their jokes degrading others - just love them where they are at and pray for them. ask the Lord to help you see them with His eyes, and ask for wisdom as to how you can be a better friend.

it is more powerful to live out one's conviction rather than forcing them onto another person.

Wow that is nice of you Tracy. What a coincedence- my cousin called me and we talked for an hour about that stuff. It was a lot like what you said. Thats one of the first times i had fought with one of them, but it was no good. I have never been too debating like I was today, but I never put the Spirit before me and let Him do the work... Thanks

Well, again maybe it is something they are going through at the time. Sometimes people act like that if something isn't going good so it may be that they just need for growth or whatever.
