i am going on a trip in Europe in July with some friends of mine. they are going for about a month, but i'm joining them (hopefully) for about 10 days, July 4-15. we're going to England, then France, followed by Switzerland and Rome. i'm planning on leaving in Rome so i can soak up as much of Europe as possible before heading back home for a jr. high trip i'm planning on going on.

here's where the prayer is needed. i've already got my ticket to England on the fourth. unfortunately, i can only find online tickets back from Rome that are over $1,200. i can't pay that. not anywhere close. i've found some tickets for $700+ but i waited too long to check for lower prices. :( as of now, i have a ticket into Europe, but none out. i'm getting a tad worried about it (even though it's a couple months away). if you guys could pray about that for me (and a safe trip as well), that'd be great. i'd like to find the tickets on my own, but if i have to i'll talk to a travel agent and spend a bit of dough for it.

I know a few websites for you to check out that might help you get cheaper tickets. I'll look for the paper that has the sites.

Have a great time in Europe. I'll be going over to England in September. :)

Switzerland is absolutely beautiful. We had an exchange student from Switzerland. Do any of you speak German/other languages?

Wow! I know someone who did that once. It'll be fun, and are you into English literature or anything? Just asking.

i know enough Spanish to get good grades in high school and college. ;) but since we're not going to Spain, i don't think that'll help all that much.

thanks for the prayers all. John, that is good reassurance. thank you. :D

i will be contacting my friend within the next couple of days to see how he's figured the cost so far. that'll determine if i actually can contine on to Rome or if i have to come back sooner (hopefully not). it'll also help me figure out what exactly my budget for a ticket home will be.

thanks for all your prayers. :)

i finally found a ticket that'll work. i'll be coming back via LAX. i might be staying with some friends for a couple days until i can catch up with the the gang going to the jr. high camp down in Palm Springs. if worse comes to worse, i'll just catch another flight up to Sacramento. still ends up being cheaper than a flight straight there.

i really want to be able to hang out down south some, tho. it would be the sweetest thing. well, one of them. it depends on quite a few variables tho. if you could pray that whatever happens i'm not bitter over. ;) and also that the end of my Europe trip is just as good as the rest of it.

well, it's time. i leave next monday, so i have a week left to prepare. and it feels like i'll need to squeeze every second out. it's as if there are 93 things to do but i can only remember 18 of them. :-\ so, if you guys could pray for a safe trip, and that my preparation goes well, that'd be the coolest yet. :) thanks.

so i leave tomorrow. :D everything's coming together (tho i still need to wash my clothes and pack, but that won't take too long). and, it turns out, my friends and i are on the same flight to London. weird, considering we've thought all along that i was getting there a couple hours before them. so it's a really cool surprise to get that news today. :D

Some, maybe most of you, maybe none of you, have heard about the bombings in London.

If not, go here. (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20050707/ap_on_re_eu/britain_explosion_55;_ylt=AqutswNqBBWFNJqoPLDI89m9 Q5gv;_ylu=X3oDMTBiMW04NW9mBHNlYwMlJVRPUCUl)

Rest assured. Mike's okay. He just posted on his livejournal about it.

Scott, i plan on it. :)

as for my trip, everything went splendidly. London was the only bump in the trip, for obvious reasons. i've updated my blog (http://www.livejournal.com/users/unshakeable/36726.htm) about the entire thing, complete with pictures.
