No pictures are allowed in signatures. Not even small ones.

why? i could understand the annoyance of having those large ones some people do in other forums.. but like avatars .. they should be alloud to have 1 or 2 resanable sized pics.. have a limit on pixil size or something

it seems to bother me sometimes when ppl have pictures
Okay, here's the deal. When there are too many pictures on a page, especially with signatures, it slows down board download time, as has already been said. Plus it gets annoying seeing the same gigantic pictures over and over especially if it comes from a heavy poster.
You might not care because you may have broadband connection or a high-speed modem, but there are individuals who have a dial-up connection. This means that it takes a longer time to download webpages, especially when there are pictures on the sites that have a larger amount of kilobytes per picture. I speak from experience, as I used to have dial-up and it took a LONG time to download websites with large and extensive pictures.
That is why, and for good reason, this messageboard disallows large picture signatures.
