Take that to the school board. Things like that are not permitted to be shown in schools. Especially without parental permission. I would inform your parents about the situation as well. We need people standing up for this stuff in schools. It's one thing to talk about it, but another to act out in anger and be heard!

i talked to the principal right after that last post, it took a while to get into his office, but i finally talked to him about it. he apologized and said that he'd talk to the teacher, said it was the school's mistake etc.

he asked if neone else was offended, i don't really know, i know there was in the class after me though. he also asked if i were brought up in a strict background, then went onto say that nudity is acceptable in some cultures...

in some cultures, but not ours. Am I to jugde another's culture? I shouldn't (unless it goes against spesific commands of God, just not my culture), but it is still offensive/improper in this culture. I don't have a problem with them telling us about it or if they showed the bathing ritual in a decent way in our culture(I don't know what it is, so I cannot say how). anyways, they should have taken the proper steps to make sure that the film is proper before they show it to the class.

True, a lot of times you can turn on PBS or Discovery and see women walking around topless because it's part of their culture. Mind you, they at least have the respect not to play shows like that durring the day or at prime time due to the content and the fact that children could be watching content their parents find unacceptable viewing.

In our culture, nudity is looked at as a sexual offence and is frowned upon, called pornography, and looked at as a dirty thing. The fact is that God created a masterpiece and is a beautiful thing when shown modestly and in the right content. There are however, wacko nudists out there who believe that we should still be walking around in the buff. What these people fail to realize is that when Adam and Eve ate of the forbidden fruit, their eyes were opened to the fact they were nude. After that, God gave them clothes to wear so they wouldn't be shamed. These idiotic perverts walk around though trying to make people believe they are set apart from the sin Adam and Eve committed. They can't see that what they are subjecting their families (and in some cases, their children) to is wrong in God's eyes. It totally makes everything that has happened in the Bible useless to them because if Adam and Eve wouldn't have sinned, they wouldnt need clothing, they wouldn't have needed the Ark, and they wouldn't need Jesus. Strange concept, eh?

It doesn't matter if you were the only one offended. Many in the class were prolly to embarassed to admit they were offended. It really doesn't matter if you were brought up by Quakers or nudists (nor do I think it is any of the principals business). In this country it is considered pornography. And what kinda pervert thinks it's ok to show that to those who aren't old enough to get in to an R rated movie. And if it was a man shown then it would be rated X. It would be sufficient for the teacher to teach that in certain cultures it is acceptable. However here it is not and I think the teacher should be disciplined, suspended, fined, sanctioned, or something like that. It sounds like the teacher prolly broke some kind of law by showing minors nudity. This definately should be taken to the school board. Until you do the teachers will keep pushing the envelope of what they can do. I'd love to see O'Rielly do a story on this.

BTW I get fired up about this kinda stuff. A family member of mine had a teacher religously discriminate against her a while back. So this issue is close to my heart.

Well, in other cultures, there aren't so many perverts running around either, so i think that's a good thing that it is considered pornagraphy in this culture(or country)

I guess it is how they are raised. I guess if someone was raised in an area where less clothing (not nudity, but like tank-tops and shorter shorts) is acceptable, It would be less of a "turn on" when they see someone dressed in a tank-top and shorter shorts than someone who lived in an area that that clothing was much less common. I am not trying saying that if the culture around you says that less is acceptable than wear less, but that you should still remain modest inspite of the cultural level of decency (or lack there of).

I am sure that lust is still an issue in cultures that are more "open" with their bodies.

Some cultures consider caning and amputation of body parts for crimes acceptable too....are they going to show that??

Alorian....keeping standing up for what is right.....we are behind you.

I know.

What I meant when I said "There are more perverts in this culture" is that we have perverts running around raping people(girls mainly) and when that image gets planted in your mind(if you have a sick mind) there it stays.
And kids who grow up thinking that running around naked is okay will grow up to become perverts.
I'm not saying that it's bad or anything because if not for the fall we all would be naked.
But we would also not have a free mind, we would not think the same way.
But there are sick minds out there,a nd you should svae that for your husband or wife someday.

They shouldn't have showed that movie...

On those like baby diaper commercials, I don't think they should be allowed to show naked baby butts because there are a lot of perverts out there...
