Has anyone heard anything about Skillet's concert at the Pyramid in Memphis, TN on December 30th??

i'm not sure... first it was on their schedule, then it had a show in washington on that date, and now it has memphis again. i don't know what to think ???

I can't really say too many good things about Memphis, actually. I wouldn't go there without someone else with me.lol That's for sure. In all honesty, I've really only been downtown Memphis once before, and that was to see Skillet at the New Daisy Theater. Will sounded like he's from the Memphis area, maybe he can tell ya what it's like...?!

I saw on the schedule that Skillet is playing a post-game show in Dec. 30th. Does anyone know if this is after a Grizzlies game?

Tennesee is beatiful. I don't live there but I've been there. It's cool. I did a state report on Tennesee in the fourth grade. I think i got a B+ on it. That was when I was unto country music. I noticed there is another thread about this memphius show dilemma.

Tennessee can be a beautiful place, it depends where in Tennessee though. East Tennessee is gorgeous!! But Memphis--yeah, nothing impressive about it at all.

personally i don't care about having a close seat for the game... i'll just fight my way down afterward - i imagine quite a few people will just head home right afterward. they also mention group discounts, but don't give specifics on how large the group has to be.

memphis is quit possibly the worst cd on the planet...there's absolutely nothing to do here and nothing to see. Unless you drink you will find nothing to do in this city.

I wasn't gonna go...but after the terrible month I've been having, a skillet concert pick-me-up sounds just awesome.

Ok...THis is what I heard a couple weeks ago.

When I first saw the posting for the Skillet concert on ticketmaster, I called the 800 number and talked to a man about buying tickets. He told me that the concert was ONLY for a conference taking place in Memphis that weekend. I asked him if I were to buy a ticket to the grizzlies game then go to the concert, but he told me that they were going to clear the place out after the game. I was really really looking forward to seeing Skillet live again. They haven't been to Memphis in a while, and it seems a shame that they just are playing for a conference. If you hear anything different please post.

o.k. when i called the GRIZZLIES OFFICE in Memphis they told me without a doubt that tickets for the game also got you into the ocncert. this was like two weeks ago. I was VERY clear to her about the SKILLET CONCERT afterward. I'm gonna call again ASAP amd get some name of people in the office so i know for sure though.

So did any of y'all end up going to the show? I did and I just wanted to hear some thoughts about the setup and stuff. Happy New Year!

howdy, i'm matt, i live in Memphis, no the post-game concert was not cancelled. It was awsome. I was at the breakaway conferrence w/my church, and we went ;)

also, it was for everyone who wantd to stay from the game, lil IROCC was there too ;D

man, i just read the other pages...WHATS UP WITH YOU [...] DISSIN' MEMPHIS??? It aint all that bad. I've lived here for 16 years, and nothing bad ever happens here. Its just the same as any other major city. >:(

it was a decent concert, they coulda set up the sound better where we could hear him singin' instead of just the drums and guitar

Well Skillet's preformance rocked, their new stuff is awesome especially performed. The set up was horrible, I had to mosh in the aisle of the bleachers and I was forever away from the band ( even though I was techically in the front row). If you went to the concert you probably saw me, I was one of the only two girls headbanging and jumping front center!

Which venue was the concert at?

The concert was at the Pyramid, but the problem was it was after a GRizzlies game, so they just set up in center court without a stage or anything. I had to stay in the seats in the risers...no moshing room for sure!

Skillet put on a great performance. The crowd was one of the lousiest I've ever seen. I really hope John realizes how many people were told they couldn't attend the show and that his hometown isn't really that uninterested in them. :-

Yah, I think John was kind of upset about the set up as well, after the show I talked to him about it soo...he understands. You have no idea how mad I was when I found out that we couldnt mosh!! GRRR....but we made due I suppose and left a little crack in the steps we were moshing on...I guess thats what happens when about 5 people are moshing in one spot! Oh and dont get me started on the crowd!! Everyone just kept watching us...I mean, HELLO? Do you not know what goes on at Skillet concerts? This is nothing!! Oh well, as soon as the music started everying was great!

aww cool. i wish i would have had time to meet some more of the panheads that went to the show. I keep telling myself we're going to get this whole "meet up at the show" thing a little more organized. anyway, so i know i saw the group you were with... we were on the third row, right behind you. were you the one in the red shirt?

Awesome job! That WAS me!! I had on my red "Alien Youth" t-shirt. I was in between two other girls..the one to my left didnt really mosh and the one to my right did most of the headbanging with me. Yeah I wish we could all have met up or maybe sat together at the basketball game! Maybe we could throw a party!!
