oooh im working on a huge wall mural at the moment...gona try and get some photos of the work in progress...hopefully let all you guys see it...

its in a local nursery school...i drew up a few ideas for them last year and the parents took a vote on which artwork they wanted and well now im painting it :D i love painting!

This is a cockpit I made in conjunction with an Italian graphics artist for the WWII flight simulator Il-2 Forgotten Battles, as part of a payware expansion disk. Created in 3D Studio Max, it depicts the cockpit of the late-war German Heinkel 162 jet fighter:

Sooooooo...I'm in this 3D design class this semester (think sculptures) and as part of this class my prof works deals with businesses (etc) to hold competitions for sculptures from his classes. Last semester did a wall sculpture for a hotel in Orlando.

Anyway (this is relevant I promise), this semester my prof has worked a deal with Hard Rock, and we get to compete to design a part of their new Hard Rock Theme Park that is going into Myrtle Beach. We dont know yet what part of it we will be helping with, or what exactly we will be creating but it will be some sort of sculpture for some part of the park! How cool is that? I am so excited. And I'm only up against 80 or so other students!

So I got to thinking, you know, about rock music, and my favorites, and different influences, just to get the creativity moving. (I actually even researched the whole theme park XD). But it comes down to, whatever it is that I am making, I want to bring to life the passion and energy John brings to what he does. Out of everyone I've ever seen in concert, John has the most passion and desire for what he is doing out of them all. The only one I can think of that comes close is Christian (the singer for Blindside), and even he falls short. John just emanates this raw passion for Christ, and somehow I am going to capture that, whether I win or not.

I'll keep you guys updated on it if youre interested. We ought to find out more in a week or so. Sorry for the dissertation, LOL. And I actually got to tell John about it, and he thought it was really cool :)

Actuley I sometimes. . do set the timer and run. . Rarely works. :P That one was just me holding it with my right arm stretched out. . . Took a few trys. ::]

Unfortunately, no, as it's very time-consuming. I was planning on another project like this for the same simulator, but then a year-long deployment to Iraq intervened. ::] If the opportunity presents itself in the future, though, I'd definitely take up another project like this.

too bad you don't have much time to do more of that work Luke...you seem pretty good a it :)

Laura, that is awesome. I really like how that turned out. What medium did you use or is it graphic? (You probably mentioned something about in the pages prio but I don't have time to go sifting through them.)

It's a regular black lever-arch file with arcylic paints.

She's sitting next to me, so I asked her :P

I'm using it as my University file for my work :D

Of course it's had 4 or 5 coats of varnish on it! Can't have it chipping now.

thanks guys...always good to hear your work looks good :)and yip like Scott said...its acrylic paints....ALOT of layers...since i have to have the colours blend and match up perfectly...perfection can be a curse :P for the verse i just used a permanent marker :) easy and quick...

Acrylics on canvas...about A3 size square...this one took alot less time than Scotts file...only 2weeks :P lol...im getting better at time keeping don't ya think? heehee

Hey that's really cool - I've decided lately that I like playing with acrylics. i don't paint much, I like to draw better, but there is just something about the way they feel under a paintbrush, you know? LOL
