Because I knew they were close during the early 60's and it would not be good because it would be to much of a Risk and To dangerous sense Cuba is close to the Border of Flordia I could see them Fireing Missles at Buildings Planes and Jet Bombings at the city.

1. We have no reason to go to war with Cuba. We're already not very popular in the world. More unprovoked wars would not be a good thing.

2. Cuba has a minimal military. While Florida may sustain some damage, they would be eradicated in the long run.

3. The Soviets were the ones we almost went to war with in the 1960's, not the Cubans. The Soviets put several Nuclear Weapons and Missiles in Cuba, and pointed them at several U.S. cities. Diplomacy worked, and the Cold War went on for another 20-30 years with no violence.

4. Cuba is no real threat to us.

5. We would miss out on those huge cuban cigars people love to import. ;)

Yes it is. The quality of Health Care might be a little less than it is now, however all people regardless of their financial situation would be entitled to free health care. That's a plus in my book.

Agreed, look at Canada's healthcare system. There was a man who had knee surgery and had to have a replacment knee put in. Well, it was a bad knee. So he had it replaced again... with yet another broken piece. Why? Cause the government demands they use all the old stuff before they get new stuff. Sad...

He was talking about in the past, not current day. We almost did go to war with the Soviet Union in the 60's, and if that happened, we would have destroyed Cuba since they were allies.

please, if you're going to start a thread, make it something we can all discuss. history facts are great, but making a thread about Ponce de Leon's search for the Fountain of Youth supposed to be Florida would only last a page or two. there's not much to discuss.

now, if you want to make a generic history thread, that would work. tho, i still doubt it would get a lot of attention due to that subject's lack of public appeal, but it has more of a point than simply saying "this would have been bad if it happened."
