I wouldn't say their the "best band" in the world others might differ, but they are a good band. There are a few other bands I like more than them. Such as Dead Poetic, Him, Afi, Breaking Benjamin, and Spoken etc.
I don't like saying that they are the best, because that doesn't allow room for future bands, you can't say that a band is "the best" because some bigger band might come by . . . :D

The "best band" is a matter of opinion. Regardless of who the most popular band is, there will always be someone who doesn't like them. I honestly don't think Skillet is the best, but they are my favorite and I'd rather listen to them than anybody else.

Bands that are better than Skillet:
In General:
Led Zeppelin
Pink Floyd
The Doors
Cream
The Beatles
The Kinks
The Eagles
About 29385249 others I can't recall. Then again, Skillets better than a lot of bands.

Again, it's really all about opinion in the end. To some people, Skillet might be the best band in the world. Some people might not like bands like Zeppelin, Floyd, or The Doors. What your opinion is might differ against what someone elses is. ;)

There is no best band in the world because of the difference in genres they all cater to. Also because there are a bunch of idiots who act like they have superior music tastes and also, kids who only listen to bands that are popular. Well, there's really no sense in having those people be the judge of it. ;) Don't take any of this personally, I'm just generalizing. Everyone has an opinion.
For me, I don't even have a 'best' band. Skillet was my first 'favorite' band because of what they did for me. Their lyrics and music have done more for me than any other band could. And that's just me.

Put on your little sarcasm hats, lest your literal feelings get stomped on...again...
Is Skillet really the best band? Why stop there? Why not ask, for example, whether or not the Pope is really Catholic?
Seems a few feelings would be hurt by such a question, no? Don't be surprised, then, that I would be upset by someone telling me that Skillet isn't the best band out there.

"Another month, still working on new stuff. Still doing festivals. - J-Dawg"
When there is news to be given, they usually do it pretty quickly. At the release of Collide, we were getting constant newsletters from them probably every 2 weeks or so. When they get closer to getting the new album finished, your inbox will be full of Skillet news. ;)

ahhh...no. Not the best. I agree that you can't really have a best band. Best bandS you can have, and I DO believe that Skillet is one of them, especially in light of Collide (the whole album)...I mean...there aren't words.
along with them are people like...Blindside, Nightwish, ummm....Chevelle,...a bunch of others...and of course, as always:
The Moody Blues.

I would say that to me they are the Best Band, for right now. That might change, along with my tastes, b/c Newsboys used to be my favorite band until I got into harder stuff, Like Skillet. Skillet is my favorite band and has been for a while, and I don't see that changing anytime in the near future. I can't wait for them to release something new, but until then I will keep rockin to Collide. :D

Without a doubt skillet is the best band in the world right now. Yeah i agree that there are other great bands with music that might be better but none of those bands (Zeppelin, The Doors,Pink floyd, etc.) proclaim god's message so powerfully. I mean yeah there are lots of christian bands but none rock as hard as skillet. So yes in my opinion i think skillet is the best band in the world because of the loud powerful way they proclaim God.

I had some witty post here a minute ago where I tried to compare Skillets fan followiing/record sales with that of Led Zeppelin and The Beatles. You know, it's really not worth it. I don't care enough to fight with you guys about a band that's fairly big in the Christian world being better than the secular bands that have attained the most record sales, and have won countless numbers of awards.
I've had more people than I can count tell me that they listen to Christian music only, or think that all Christian music is better than secular music simply because secular isn't about God. That's a really interesting way to alienate yourself from the rest of the world. Why don't you just create a seperate internet called "Christiannet" so you don't have to deal with all the problems that the "Secular" internet has. You could also seperate yourself from the secular world by creating your own set of cable television channels to replace the secular ones. You could also replace every secular news network with your own news networks free of those big bad liberals.
Music's music. It's designed to sound good, so as long as it's not singing about overly negative things, what's so bad about music that isn't about God?

Yes skillet is the best band in the World. I agree that some of those other bands (Zeppelin, The Doors, Van Halen, Pink Foyd, etc.) May have better music but they do not proclaim a Godly message. Skillet is the best band because they Proclaim gods message loud and clear and it is not boring hallelujiah choirs or slow music, i mean come on they rock! So basically i think they r the best band but they need to amke another album soon. 8)

What is your problem sometimes, Greg? Honestly. I listen to whatever I want. Chances are, I'd still like some music that proclaims God (because sometimes I want that message.) even if it didn't happen to contain some of my favorite music anyway. bBut, the majority of the time, I'm listening to music for entertainment. You know what? I think the Beatles suck. So do (most) of my friends, Christian or not. I'll agree they were revolutionary for their time, and started trends that have had influence into today's music. But I could care less, when it's not what I like.
Same with Led Zeppelin, really. Though, I wouldn't outright say they suck (in my tastes) as I would the Beatles. In any case, since when, pray tell, has record sales ever been a concrete indicator that certain music is better than other music? It can be a general clue, but nothing solid. As far as Christian stuff goes (like Skillet), they actually have that working against them when trying to compete for sales against mainstream bands that are in the spotlight.
I really could care less. Skillet is what I like. Collide is one of my top 5 favorite albums regardless of message, and even awsomer for it's inclusion. It's ridiculous to get up in arms about someone liking something better than what you'd say is the best (especially on a Skillet fan site), and it's even more ridiculous to start assuming things about Christian exclusivity that are not even present.
Collide, as I already said, being one of my favorite albums ever, I'm obviously going to like Skillet more than that entire list you posted. And, for that matter, I could care less about most of those bands anyway. That's me, so what do you care? you're the only one "fighting."

Well, I agree. With both of you.
I see what Greg is trying to say. I certainly don't understand why so many Christians are totally against listening to any secular music at all. I mean, really... why is that such a bad thing? As long as it doesn't have a negative or bad message, why NOT listen to it? So many Christians seem to think that listening to any type of secular music is bad and will totally ruin your walk with God. You hear stuff like this much too often...
Christian 1: What do you think of this band?
Christian 2: Are they Christian?
Christian 1: No.
Christain 2: They suck.
On, the other hand, I do see your point too, Amos. Everyone listens to what they want to hear, and what makes them feel good. They can if they want, that's their choice.
