Hey,
Does anybody know anything yet about Skillet in Europe? Are they coming to Paris? I am so bummed that I missed them at my fav venue (the Mill) that I have to see them here!

according to www.skillet.org, there are no shows in Europe, currently. i know a while back they had a show listed for Germany, but it's not there any more. :-

but i would suggest just checking back every week or so to see. you just never know. ;)

oh, & you'll always be welcome to join us on a more permanent basis. ;)

Ow that sucks!

Man, it was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SKillet rocked! It's a pity the show was rescheduled, 6 pm instead of 7 pm, so I missed 15 minutes of it or something. The WinterWonderRock organisation sucks. Anyway.. the Skillet gig...

They played 2 songs I knew (actually 3, but I missed 'Best Kept Secret'): You are my hope and Alien Youth. The rest were songs from the new album I think. I knew it was Lori's birthday, so when it was all quiet I screamed, together with a friend of mine: "Happy birthday Lori!" and John said in the microphone: "Hey, I heard somebody say happy birthday to Lori", so I screamed again and he looked at me and he said (again in the mic :D) "Well, that's a real fan! Thanks!" and we all sang Happy Birthday for Lori. It was awesome!

It was a pity that the sound wasn't that good, the guitars were too loud and you couldn't hear Corey sing. (Well, you could hear it but it was very not-loud, get it?)

But I absolutely loved it. I bought the new cd and I have been searching for them, I really wanted to meet them and get my cd signed, but I haven't found them anymore :( But that doesn't really matter.

Besides Skillet I saw The Supertones (and that was the best concert of WWR - above Skillet, yes...), Delirious, The Violet Burning, Bleach, Paul Colman Trio, uhm... Well those were the bands that were the most impressive for me. :-*

Yep, it was a great weekend!

supertones better than skillet? ???

in any event, i'm glad that you had a fun time and got to see them, get their cd and all that. :)

and i am glad you all sang happy birthday to Lori. :)

Hey

I just got back from Scotland today after seeing Skillet on Wednesday night, it was soooooooo cooool!!!! ;D I guess i'll share my experience with you guys.

Me and my friend got a flight over from Northern Ireland and went tot he church real early. When we walked in John and Korey were standing there talking to people, and I met them got my pic taken, then they said they had to go to soundcheck, and we sorta went after them and talked to a guy, asked him could we watch it. He let us in and then John was there and I asked would be ok if we watched the sound check and he said it was fine. They started setting up and then John came over and talked to us and stuff, and we told him we had been at starbucks, but unfortunetly it was too far away for him to go which he annoyed about, lol. Anyways we ended going with John, Ben abd Jonathan to a cafe around the corner to get coffee, which was cool.

We got abck again and still we were the only people there along with the people setting up, Skillet and Blissed the scary looking support band, we were even there before the local band got there, lol It was so awesome talking to each member of Skillet, they couldn't believe we had come all the way from Northern Ireland and got a flight and everything just to see them.

So anyway they did soundcheck, they played Forsaken and Savior,I actually went to the restroom and I heard them doing Savior, lol so I rushed back. I got talking to them a bit and John came over to us a few times and sat down, he's so nice.

When people started coming in we got to the fropnt of the church and stodd front row centre, lol. We were the only two there that didn't go to the church, lol. I think there was less than 100 people at the show which meant it was so easy to interact with the band.

Anyway the show started and the twp support bands were ok but the crowd weren't really into them much. Then when Skillet came everyone got fired up, as you can imagine. I felt so happy to be right at the front and knew Skillet would recognise me. Then after like the first song, John spoke to the crowd and he said, "These two people at the front travelled all the way from ireland to be here" and everyone clapped and everything and then he said he was gonna dedicate a song to us later on. I was so happy, it was so cool for him to say that.

Then after a good few songs, John said "We're gonna do a song for you guys at the front, we weren't gonna do this song but because of this girl(me) asking if we'd do it, I decided to play this oneand dedicate it to them. Then he was all like you can thank her that you can hear this new song, and he explained it was a love song he and Korey had written. It was just so cool of them to do that :).

There was just so much energy,I was so tired after it had finished, my eyes were all weird from all the head banging and stuff, lol Then after the show I tlaked to them again, got their autograph and some pictures taken, and they kpet thanking us from coming and everything.

It was just such a cool day, one of those days that God brings about. It's funny because I wouldn't ahve known about the show only that I picked up this Christian paper my dad buys and saw it in that. It wasn't even advertised onm Skillet's site so it was only through me looking through the newspaper that I found out. Plus if we had have went into the church a few mintues later John and Korey wouldn't have been there and we would probably have waited outside for hours in the hope of seeing them.

Anyway I hope I didn't yap on too much, i'm just so excited about it!!!!!

Later
Kirsty

Hi from down under! (It's 5 something in the afternoon here)

I was wondering when skillet would be visiting our shores again? I think skillet does a awesome job ministering to all who hear them. Please come to Queensland in australia so some of your aussie fans can hear you live again.

Take care xxxx

Next time someone talks to a band member ask them if they'll ever consider coming to Belfast in Northern Ireland. Tell em a whole bunch of Irish panheads (only a few of which are on Panheads) want to see them!

I'm pretty sure if y'all could raise the money and get a venue and all that other good stuff you need to put on a show, Skillet would come out there.
