So poor Jim Morrison drank himself to death at age 27 in Paris in 1971. That's sad, seeing as he's one of the best vocalists/songwriters ever. In case you didn't read the title of this thread, he created the band The Doors along with Ray Manzerek in the late 60's. They're quite good.
Anyone else like the Doors?
I'm not a real huge fan of them, but they weren't bad. I like a few of the songs.
Have you ever seen the movie of the same name? Very verrry strange in certain parts, but I think Val Kilmer did a very accurate portrayal of Jim Morrison.

He looked like a lizard man and he was in fact "The Lizard Man." Take me to the whiskey bar...

<----BIG fan of The Doors. I just bought a shirt today from a consignment store. Very cool. I haven't see that movie however. I don't really like Val Kilmer though...

I was never really into the Doors, but I enjoy how they came up with their name...

They based their name off of Aldus Huxley's book, "The Doors of Perception". Basically what it's about is this guy (or perhaps it is his real life experience, I can't remember) who takes this drug for some scientists to study him and in taking it his eyes are opened to new things, to new aspects of life. His way of viewing things has changed and he feels more understanding of the world or whatnot. Honestly, I thought it was neat that they got their name from that, but English class threatens to be the death of me, so I can't say I was totally "there"...

Ever seen the movie? There's this part, it's one big acid trip. It has indians chiefs, and sand, it's crazy.

You should, it's worth seeing. It captures the band pretty well. Although they were no Zeppelin or Floyd, they're still geniuses.
