Ah, the new (or old) music you can stumble upon in iTunes. I just found this band yesterday (after hearing about them for a year or two) and absolutely love them so far. I don't know what it is but I keep buying songs and putting their cds on my wishlist. What about you guys?

Wow, you're just now hearing of them? Personally, I see SP as one of the best and influential bands of the 90's. Corgan has a way to add a lot of art to his music. After Queen, I see them as one of the most artistic bands to hit the scene.

Man CJ, you gotta remember I was raised on Christian pop and am only sixteen. ;) What cd would you recommend to me?

Both those cd's rock. They are just so...I'm not even sure how to say it. Fire-Inside had it right with "Ahh." :D

I think the only cd of theirs I have is the greatest hits. But you should here there songs Disarm, Bullet With A Butterfly Wing, Tonight Tonight, 1979, and Today. All great songs.

I never liked their sound, so I never got into them . . .

I'm just completely spellbound because normally with bands I can either say 'I love them for THIS reason' or it takes me a while to get into them...but when I discovered them I just said 'oh wow...oh WOW' And I have no idea why.

They're decent, and I'm sure were influential. Being 18 I wasn't overly familiar w/them until recently, and I simpy prefer some of the newer bands of their type.

Wow, yeah... what CJ said.

My brother and I would smash some pumpkins from our garden... He called it 'Corganism'... That was, like, 6 years ago... but we both still call it that.

This thread makes me feel old. I remember hearing all about Smashing Pumpkins years and years ago. That was back in my young and naive days, so I looked upon them with contempt (I was a good little brainwashed Christian back then), even though deep down I thought they were incredible.

They're putting out a new album? That's amazing. I thought they'd never get back together.
