Reader's Choice Awards 2005 @ Christianity Today (http://www.christianitytoday.com/music/reviews/2005/2005readerschoice.html)

Skillet wins best band.
And, rather hilariously, Collide, though ineligible for best release by a year, garnered enough votes to place first for Best Album, but couldn't be awarded of course.

In my defense, I voted Flyleaf for best new album when I saw Skillet's Collide was not eligible...guess I missed THAT bandwagon. W00, go not thinking!

ROTFL!
It's worth noting that Skillet's last album, 2003's Collide, actually garnered the most votes for Best Album, but it was ineligible because it was released a full year prior to our "eligibility window" (albums had to be released between Oct. 1, 2004 and October 31, 2005). But Skillet fans, also known as Panheads, voted for Collide anyway, despite clear instructions on the survey about album eligibility. Oh, well, you know what they say about blind allegiance, and we've gotta give the Panheads props for their enthusiasm!
I know I voted for them despite the dates. I can't believe tey decided to give it to them anyway. That's awesome.

I think I wrote Collide in also. It sure is nice to see Skillet get the props they deserve.

Well I'm proud to be a Panhead
Where at least I can be me
And I wont forget to bang my head
till my necks in misery
And I'll gladly stand up
next to you
And sing You Take My Rights Away
Cuz there aint no doubt
I love this band
They are rocking off my face
