My family and I were involved in a car accident, and I would really appreaciate it if you would all pray that we would have a quick recovery. It's actually a miracle that we're not hurt worse than we are, and I have been praising God that I am still alive. I got away with a head injury and whiplash to my back and neck. I will live. ;D

yes! praise God that they're okay and that it wasnt worse... i was talking with emily about the accident and i really could have been MUCH worse... praise the Lord that they are all okay!

Did it total your vehicle? I have been in two wrecks that the vehicle I was in was totaled and several other minor wrecks as well! lol, my parents are crazy drivers.

ya it was a GMC Yukon XL and its totalled... barely drivable. :-

Thanks for praying. My family will be alright. I am just so thankful that God was watching over us. When I was in the hospital the doctor kept telling me that he didnt know if i would be paralyzed or whatnot. I also have been carefully watched since I was released for certain symptoms...in case they need to take me back coz of my head injury. I did get compliments from the doctor though. He was amazed at how "level headed" and "emotionally stable" my friend and I were. Then of course, me with my stupid sense of humor, was cracking jokes the whole time to keep the stress levels down. God was definately with me. There was not one moment where I was scared...in fact my mom went into shock shortly after the crash occured, and I had to sort of take charge of the situation. Making sure everyone was alright...my sister was hyperventilating and so I had to help her in that. I wasn't even aware at how badly i was hurt until I made sure everyone was okay. Which is amazing because when the crash occured I hit my head and everything in my body went numb. Then everyone started freaking out, and I forgot about myself for a second. lol!!!

The doctors said something about a concussion. I'm not supposed to be out of bed, but I am. I was supposed to help feed the homeless, but that didn't happen... ::)

GARTHY!! Now, listen go back to bed! and oh my I remember when I was asking my dad when he would be home from work, he got home a week later from the hospital. Yeah, I know when you are sooo happy about something then it like suddenly your emotions die about that thing and yeah no clue what am talking about.

Yes, i go to the doctor at 8 in the morning to see what's wrong with me. I'm somewhat nervous, but I do trust God's plan for my life. He knows what is best for me. The numbness gets increasingly worse :- Then stiffness in my limbs. So I suppose I shall have to keep those praying updated.

yes shes been very bad about staying in bed... she's been up and out and about ever since teh accident and she wonders why she still hurts.

I know what thats like... the only thing that stopped me from moving is having an IV in my arm and me not wanting to rip it out
But staying in Bed is fun ::)

I just got back from the doc (again) and I bruised my spinal cord. I go in for an MRI to see if any further damage has been done. But the doc said I was very fortunate that nothing serious happened (that we know of so far) to my spinal cord, and that I got off easy.

that's awesome! (not about the bruising, but about how you only got bruised). Praise God it wasn't anything more.

Alrighty! After being to a few different specialists/neurologists it has been concluded that no serious damage has been caused to my neck/spinal cord, and that the damage done was only temporary. In fact, I am feeling much better. Still not completely back to my old self, and am limited in movement, but i am still better off. Thanks to all for your prayers- it is much appreciated. The docs said that its a miracle that I didnt harm my spinal cord more, or i didnt have permanent injuries from the accident. God rockeths hardcore. :)

Hrm. My family and I could still use your prayers. We're still quite beat up. I have damaged muscles and ligaments....and its quite painful, as I am going to physical therapy and a wonderful chiropractor.

...WAY late update but garth is still undergoing therepy with little signs of improvement, she's showed signs of memory loss, her eyesight is not what it used to be (since she jarred her "sight" section of her brain) and she goes to therepy 3x a week to both ciropractors and to a neurologist.

please continue to pray for her healing, she still needs your prayers.

I'll be praying for you guys. I know what a hard time you guys much be going through trying to recover. Be thankful though! My Papa was killed in a car accident in May, and at the end of January my sister was in a serious accident. She has multiple pelvic fractures, a fractured skull, and she can't hear out of one ear. But PRAISE GOD that's all. From the looks of that car there's no reason she should be hear except simply for the fact that God had his hand on her. My prayers are with you!

actually, no she's doing "just fine" (Garth 8:48pm 4-26-04) she goes to therepy once a week, her chiropractor wont release her yet because her hip is still in "terrible condition" (Garth 8:48pm 4-26-04) and "i'm just fine" (Garth 8:48pm 4-26-04)
