Not that anyone will really care about this piece of news, but I thought I would share.
On March 20th, I'm going to see my musical heros for the first, and probably the last time in my life. It's a little band out of England called Queen!
In all seriousness, I don't think anyone could understand how much this truly means to me. These are the people who got me into music from the start. Who trained me while I would sing songs like Under Pressure over and over into my mirror. Or spending hours training on my drums or pianos to songs that spoke to me. This is truly an amazing moment in my life. Sounds silly, but it was always my dream to see them.
Granted, it won't exactly be the same without Mercury at the lead, but his memory remains in the music and will still speak a million words, even if the voice is someone elses.

I'm really glad for you. It's not every day that someone gets to meet their hero.

I think I can somewhat understand how you feel. I would feel that way if I could see.. say Pink Floyd or Led Zeppelin. When I saw that Queen was going on tour, I immediatly went to look at their tour locations.
I can't drive 800 miles. :( I really do want to see these guys live.

Have a great time CJ; and I expect a full report after the event. I kinda felt the same way when I saw The Firm, seeing Jimmy Paige do the Dazed and Confused violin bow solo was so awesome.

I find it somewhat humorous. I NEVER get giddy about seeing bands. Even those I admire and love listening to.

That's really cool. But, I've never heard of these guys. Other than saying "they're amazing" or something like that, what are they like?

I would kill to be able to see that. The last years of Jimmy Page's life are being wasted away while I live in Idaho unable to see him, or Plant, or Jones live. Argh.

That's exactly how I felt when I was going to see Skillet. They are the best band ever to me. And still are. And every time I see them inconcert, I get the same overwhelming feeling right before they rock out when John says "ARE YOU READY!!!!!!!!!!??????" :D

LOL, it's quite funny how many younger people don't know who Queen is but know all their music from watching music/going to sports events/singing them in school. ;)

That's the coolest thing ever! Have fun CJ. Let us know all the details of how the concert went, because some of us won't be going and would definitely like to hear about it.
(Sorry for the poor picture - but it's the best one I had.)

I found out yesterday that Freddie Mercury died in 1991. I thought for the longest time it was after 2000. :\

I would like to see the Stones live even if they are burned out. They're one of the last bands I like a lot that still play.
