Why would people pay to go to a concert if they are going to boo and point lasers?

Didn't this venue have security?

that's the benefit of having to pay for a show vs. a free concert. as much as i like the concept of free... the crowd seems to lag at free shows. but the shows were you have to put forth some hard earned money, you will more likely have people there who want to be there.

I don't understand why people would want to do that, but...come on, thats jsut plain mean: they're doing it for you and you might as well be like 'screw them'.

I can't waitll TFK is back in NY for Kingdom Bound...they're awesome.

Yes, it is so frustrating how disrespectful people can be. I mean, even with teachers and stuff, it makes me mad because teachers work hard and they deserve respect. And even with those poeple who you don't think deserve respect...I say get over it and respect them anyways. I've seen some crappy bands and heard some really crappy cds, but I still wouldn't go up to that band and tell them that their stuff sucks, I would tell them that it's just not my type and it's true becasue there are other people who do like it(I don't know why but whatever ;)). The point is that that would be the respectful thing to (note: lying and tellig them that their music is "the best ever" would be equally disrepectful because you are lying to them). Why don't people realize how bad it hurts when somone is bearing their heart and soul (which is what a band is doing when they play their music) and is rejected like that? *sigh* like I said, this frustrates me.

I remember after a beanbag (RIP) show in my area in 2000, some guy walked up to hunz in a mcdonald's and had a convo like this:

"hey, you're that dude from beanbag!"
(aussie accent) "yeah man, you like the show?"
"no way - you guys sucked!!"

some people. that show made me buy their cd too.

I def. think that bands have to know what others think about their show so they can change/make it right. But telling someone that they show it's good, must be done in a resepctive manner.

~sigh~. This happens alot at Festival shows, especially when people come to festival with maybe 60 bands just to see one particular one. It really is sad. Especially when supposed christians do it.

Especially when supposed christians do it.

Exactly! This is a topic that gets me REALLY worked up. Doesn't the Bible say we're supposed to build each other up?? What's with these people who go to a christian concert and tear people down?? Aren't they working towards the same purpose?? Apparently not. If they really were christians, they would offer CONSTRUCTIVE criticism in order for them to better reach people for the kingdom of God. When people fight these bands, they're fighting God's will! And, if they do that to a non-christian band, they're setting a bad example for christians. We wonder why people think christians are hypocrites?? Grr...!!!

hmmm. bash a band, then plug your own. good way to spread around your name. :P

i do agree about TFK live. they don't have the best show. it seems to fall too much upon Trevor's shoulders. it should be up to all the guys to build the energy, but he's the only one moving around or do much of anything. and that's hard when you have to sing as long and fast as he does.

but there's still no need to say it as roughly as you did. maybe this is what the guys who saw the concert had trouble with as well. ;)

i dont mean to be rude but I've been playing shows and seeing since I was 15 in the christian scene and the only band I've ever seen booed was TFK. Its just my thought that the producers make that band not the band itself .

Musical creativity is wasted on people who habitually abuse drugs.

Our approach is an aggressive form of praise and worship that combines our influences of rock, punk, pop, and cutting edge worship forming a melting pot of sounds and styles that uniquely glorify our Lord and Saviour.

What does unique even mean anymore...? At least TFK is pleasing to the ears on an entirely different level even if they do sound like everyone else.

I guess our label got us on Cornerstone and a tour becuase we suck and our management flew 5 of us to L.A to record the new album becuase we are average. We are re-named Summer League and in the studio now. If you hated our last album you'll really hate this one.

the reason i didn't like tfk live was because they took the awesome guitar solos out of their new songs...that was really dumb.

another reason is because it always takes them forever to set up and get ready...i've been to 2 of their shows and both times they were like almost an hour delayed

It's amazing what goes on backstage at these festivals. I've had to yell at more than one person to stop screwing around and do what they are suppose to do. One of the main issues is that a lot of these festivals either don't have a stage manager for the event, or the person suppose to be doing the stage managing is doing the same things as the hands, which is usually either watching the show, talking to friends, or trying to talk to the bands. So when a band is setting up/tearing down, there is only one or two people there helping move things on stage. It gets annoying. Especially when it starts cutting into the bands time.

Even at regular shows it can be chaotic. Their 'hired help', who are basically there for a free concert, are more interested at talking to friends than actually doing any help.

And if you think it's bad setting up, you should see at the end of the night when all the help who were there at the beginning suddenly disappear. It gets pretty annoying when you have a total of 3 people helping put things away.

*slaps* That's pretty much all I have to say. TFK was making waves and doing excellent shows way before they were on any label. They're newer stuff is a 'bit more generic, which is dissapointing, but still good. Trevor, as far as I'm concerned, is an extremely cool guy. He basically is "TFK." He's helped countless artists to get started up since they've signed Tooth And Nail, and written several of my favorite songs. I can't say how good some of their recent shows may have been, or how prompt the hired help Tooth and Nail provided, but I honestly couldn't give a flip. Indie TFK put on some of the best shows I've ever seen in my life back in the day, and Trevor always energy, even if the others are lacking :P.

yeah i know that feeling. my band played a show once and all of our helpers ditched us and we had to clean up everything ourselves...just the three of us. that sucked...haha.

Once again agreed I know how live shows are. Although my band can set up and mic everything including drums and amps withing 20 minutes with no crew but it helps we've travel with road cases and drum racks. When we play overseas we just rent everything hire a crew each date. Just show up with pedal boards and guitars.
