What are your views on the band Underoath? Which do you like better, old or modern. I think Underoath is a great band, but I haven't heard much of their old stuff[the only 3 old songs I've heard were When the Sun Sleeps, A Message to Adrienne, and The Last(though I don't remember much of that one)].

does the song go "Caroline, Let me wipe away your tears, and bring you life, and make you feel beautiful again, Caroline? " If it does, then it is Seventh Day Slumber.
Greg, Im not sure who to liken them to, but I love them. Both the changing of times and They're only chasing safety.
I for the most part, dislike both of the early EP's.
They are awesome. I mean, they have a touch of emo, which I know you hate, but not a whole lot. The lyrics are very creative, and they have some pretty good insturment work as well. I just love the energy.

Extra tad of info.
On the emo part, they do not have lyrics like "I stab my heart for you stab heart stab twist stab.."
And there is only one mention of wrist cutting ( on the suicide scale, no just cutting) in one song, which is a true story, about a guy and a girl..
Its not that emo.

So, are these guys screamo metal? Who else do they sound like?
Their first two EPs, Act of Depression and Cries of the Past, sound like black metal. Their first full length, The Changing of Times, loses some of that, but is still relevantly heavy. Their next CD, They're Only Chasing Safety, totally loses the heavy guitar, and totally turns to emocore/screamo.

I thought it sounded like every other voice out there. Stupid me...I should have known better ;)
They are now one of my favorite bands. I like them because, like skillet, they are awsome people and the are on fire for Jesus but they arn't shoving it down people's throats, walking around like they are better than everyone else just because they are christians. I guess I'm saying that they have a balence, they don't hide their faith (they seem quite proud of it) but they arn't conceded about it. I like that.

Jul 29, 2006 - UNDEROATH have canceled the rest of their shows on Warped Tour 2006
UNDEROATH have canceled their upcoming appearances on the Vans Warped Tour due to unforeseen circumstances. “We’re deeply frustrated and sorry for any inconvenience this has caused. We felt it necessary to take some immediate time to focus on our friendship, as that’s more important than risking it for the sake of touring at this time,” the band stated.

Does anyone on here like Underoath? They're definitely one of my favorite bands. They have a good message too. Plus, they are one of the only Christian bands I have heard of that play at secular places, but aren't afraid to speak the name of Jesus. They play at warped tour, but every night they let the people at those places know that they believe in Jesus, why they believe in Jesus, and that Jesus loves those people. If you are a fan of Screamo/Hardcore/whatever else you wanna call it I'd suggest you listen to Underoath. You won't be disappointed.

1 The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.
2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, God hath shined.
3 Our God shall come, and shall not keep silence: a fire shall devour before him, and it shall be very tempestuous round about him.
4 He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people.
5 Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.

They're Only Chasing Safety was the first album with Spencer Chamberlin. Before that their singer was Dallas Taylor and he departed after an argument with the band.
