last time i saw them, john was talking about some druggie he met at the mall once (he was asking john for some drugs haha), and so JOhn was talking to him about God, and the guys told him he was a christian, and John's like "I was so mad, I kicked him" (something along those lines) and then he's like "and these shoes can hurt! looke at these things" and he put his foot out, to show the crowd, but he stuck his foot right in my face, and about kicked me, I had to back up. It was kinda funny, I don't think he knew he almost kicked me though....

lol, I know exactly what ya mean. But, it seems alot of panheads (also containg me :)) like to dress like Skillet. And that's cool. I mean, like how they used to dress in the Alien Youth days - black, flames, etc. And SO MANY people judge by how you look, even before looking insdie your heart. If people could onlu take a glance what's inside, they'd besurpirsed there's alot of misread people! Know what I mean??

A couple of years ago, when Skillet's Alien Youth came out, I had a pic of them on my folder at school. And all my peers saw their clothes and just downed them. Thought they were devil worshippers and stuff. That made me so mad. But I just let it go. A few days ago, I let those few listen to SKillet's new album, and they LOVED IT!!! Made me feel so good inside.

He did a solo-type thing with it...he didn't actually play it during a skillet song.

In the recording I have from the HYILYS era....they played Deeper, then Ken did a guitar solo...and then John whipped out the trombone for a little solo of his own.

John claims he got the idea to do it because that was the time when Ska music was really big and, well, it was getting to the point when there were just so many Ska bands that many of them were just copycats and not very good musicians at all...so Cooper decided that (after 3 years playing the trombone in marching band) that he would give playing the trombone on stage a try. I guess he just figured, Why not? ;)

lol, I know exactly what ya mean.

Back to what you guys and gals where saying about John jumping off the stage. Man I wish I was at that concert thats crazy. At KB there is no body surfing or moshing nothing and it kinda blows but I guess it is for our own safety. But to see John jump of the stage I would pay extra to see that. And on a more serious not Johns lyrics are the reason why I listen to Skillet. Just listening to the CD you can tell that John has a real passion for God and that he wants to express himself and tell the world about Gods love. I think he is an amazing person who has an incredible gift for writing about God and, im speechless because Skillets music is the best thing that has happened in my life and I am sure it is the same for some of you other skillet fans and I thank God every day for creating such amazing people like John, Korey, Ben and Lori.

Maybe at the max 9-10 years. If you think about it isn't a long time. I know people that have been playing guitar for 30 years. And him playing piano at an early age might have been a factor..or another factor could be that he's a quick learner. Ie I forgot what band, but they were looking for a drummer, the ended up auditioning their bassist. <-- which is a different story. So, I'll zip it.
