i don't know why i didn't make this thread sooner...
i've been totally into these guys since i heard their new album back in September. got it as soon as i could. it's excellent. the musicianship is top notch, the songs are catchy, but soulful. and the disc is very nice 14 songs long (sorry, i'm talking about "Why Should the Fire Die?").
if you enjoy bluegrass/folk/country then check this trio out. :) very good.
if you don't, but you enjoy listening to good musicians, check 'em out.

i know i'm the only one into these guys on the boards, but i don't care. i'm going to announce this anyway.
i get to see Nickel Creek in concert May 5 at the Crest Theater in Sactown!! ;D This is going to be the concert of the year for me, probably (it's hard to tell when it's only April).

That would be sweetness itself. i know Sean and Sara sang and played a little mandolin on "Circles" (very little, only the end), but i didn't know about this.
i did know that Nickel Creek is ending its days as a band, however, sad as it may be. :(

I actually only discovered them a few days ago, but I'm really hooked... and my roommate used to play "Should've Known Better" (at least I think that's the track name...) over and over again, but I guess I just never looked into it... very cool. ;D

I remember seeing Nickel Creek for the first time on CMT a long time ago. I liked their music a lot, but I couldn't get over the guy playing the mandolin, he looks so odd when he's playing, I couldn't help but laugh at him. *shrugs* :)

From what i hear, it is rather odd, because it's so small, and he's not a small guy (but not big either).
"Should've Known Better" is one of their songs. i got that at Christmas with their best of CD "Reasons Why." It's a great song.
their future project is called "The Real Sean Jon"
to be entirely accurate, that would be Sean Watkins and Jon Foreman (of Switchfoot), not Nickel Creek. It's not the entire band, so it's not "their" CD. But nonetheless, i'm excited about this.
