That made me laugh. What does that guy hope to accomplish by bringing the Catholic Church up on charges?

you're going to sue a denomination over doctrine? interesting...

all i have to say is.. that guy is a noob... he should do some history lessons first to start with, since there is complete proof Jesus exsisted... the fact that some people beleive he is the son of god and others dont doesnt mean hes never exsisted..

and secondly.. to sue someone over what they beleive?? that is taking away freedom.. its like saying.. your not allowed to beleive there is a God....

Perhaps he wants to make people wonder IF Jesus existed at all? Like, as if it were possible for him not to exist. I mean, people just assume it is true, not many doubt it. It just deteriorates the idea that Jesus existed, because then you doubt what he did, that he died, that he rose, etc.

Attacking the foundation, if you will.

Smart strategy, I am sure many have fallen because of this. Not that he won or proved anything, just it makes people question the obvious --slowing down anything beneficial.

I'd like to stress something, he didn't think he could WIN... he was just an intrument for a later time so that millions will consider it for even a moment -- a path to serious doubt and further lack of faith.

Did Jesus exist? The White guy who speaks in old English and wore nothing but white robes and, possible, a sash? No, not really. But I'm fairly certain Yeshua the Jewish man who also happened to be the Son of God did. ;)

No, he'd think you're a raving lunatic and further along his personal agenda. :)

By letting it get you angry, you're only lettin' him win.

The man is deceived. Nothing more. He has been tricked into thinking that God does not exist. His own ideas have worked against Him.

HA! He deserves the slander charge. Something tells me he will never be charged with it though. Heh. Imagine what would have happened if the judge had ruled against the Catholic priest. He would never be left alone about it for the rest of his life.

ROFL!!!!!

Asked about the possibility he would be tried for slander, Cascioli chuckled, saying that to prove he lied, prosecutors would have to prove that Jesus existed.

"They don't have any proof," he said.

Do you consider that a victory? Unless we change people's hearts, it's hard to consider something so wordly to be a victory. Additionally, I don't think it will shut him up, especially considering he never expected to win and I doubt winning was even his intention.

When you think about it, they don't have anything admissible in a court of law.

there is that little bit from the historian Josefus (sp?) that mentions a Jesus, son of a carpenter, who led a religious sect, but was crucified.
