At least they can say, "She went a bit mad in her final days."

I dont think he was bringing WRATH upon her (remember God is loving and mericful, and yes He is also JUST) I bet it was more of a " ok you made your choice" and allowed her to die. Because she was not going to become a Christian. So yah just a thought but not a lightning bolt type of thing

Well, how about a judgement, it sure wasn't a wake up call because she didn't wake up. He punishes the wicked and its not with his goodness its with His wrath. The fear of God keeps us in check. He's love but He's also God.

I think it really must of ticked Him off i mena look at Ananias and Sapphira in the Bible. They may have stole from Him and she may have just cursed Him but the Bible also says that all sin is the same great or small. So I think that this deffintaly could have been the wrath of God. You know, and God says He's the same yesterday today and 4-ever so i think if he did it to Ananias and Sapphira in the Bible he would do it now days too. So I think that this deffintaly could have been the wrath of God.

I wonder what type of affect this had on the rest of the community. I wonder if they will worship God now.

I don't think that someone getting struck down in a village is the best reason for the rest of the village to start worshipping...

Some people worship God out of fear alone -- I'd be afraid to curse God after that, in their position. The concept of people converting to Christianity out of fear is not far-fetched, sadly. :\

True. I was thinking of 1 Kings 18 when I wrote that.

According to the story Bob shared, the villagers believed in God, but they also believed in other Gods.

Just like the Israelites in 1 Kings 18. After the 450 prophets of Baal could not get Baal to answer with fire to consume their sacrafice, Elijah called on God who sent fire that consumed not only the sacrafice, but the wood and the stones it was laid upon, as well as the water that was dumped onto it that filled the trench, then the Israelites believed God was the one true God.

Immediately following, Elijah prayed for rain to come and relieve them from the drought.

Instead of praying for God to send rain, she cursed God for sending the drought.

I hope this brings the other villagers to believe and worship God as the one true God.
