Yeh, I think the nametags are in order. We should come up with some instructions that if you are part of the forums, to come to a table once inside and sign in or something to get a nametag. That way we know whos all there. We missed a lot of people at the last 2 shows.

I called the phone # on itickets today and here's what they gave me.

box office is 419.289.5125 (they'll re-open next week) and tickets are $10. she said there's no opening band(s) and skillet's bringing their own production crew.

i see they're playing in appleton, wisconsin the night after, which looks like it's around 8.5 hrs from ashland. maybe they'll be close the night before. looking forward to the show.

Does anyone know how the concert will be set up? It's at the theatre there... does that mean we'll be in specific seats? If that's the case, I don't know how enthused I am about going; I mean, I love Skillet 'n' all, but being huddled standing tightly in a group of crazed panheads right next to the stage is one of the reasons I love it so.

minnow
01-15-2004, 05:12 AM
i know it's general admission. i saw switchfoot & the elms there about a year ago. there are theater-type seats, but if i remember correctly there is a small area between the stage and the front row of seats. since sf & elms are 'calmer' i don't think anyone went down front, but they might let us for skillet.

So I don't have to call ahead for tickets? Because I know "The Fish" was giving out free tickets and all that crap... but I really didn't want to bother having to preorder anything, the lazy guy I am.

01-17-2004, 10:42 AM
When I saw Skillet last year at Encounter it was a different venue but it had seats and there was an open area between the stage and the seats too. They let everyone fill that area. I was practically on the stage LOL. There wasn't any security and they let everyone gets as close as they wanted. My mom stayed back in her seat though, I guess the crowd was too "wild" for her lol. I told her good thing she didn't come to the Evanescence concert with me their fans are 100 times worse no exaggeration. I'll be there, maybe I'll see some of you :)

Hey you crazy Panheads!!

I attend Ashland University and this is my hometown.
I was to the box office this week and spoke to them.
Tickets are $8.00 for High school and college students and $10.00 for everyone else. If you have an AU ID tickets are free. (SIGN UP FOR COLLEGE NOW!!)
The concert is being held in Hugo Young Theatre but I was told that there are no assigned seats. I think that it is going to be real crazy up there because there is little standing room OH YE!! So all PANHEADS must get there real early in order to get up close. You all will know me as the old fart rocker with the tattered army shirt who will appear to be having a seizure especialy if they play Cycle Down or Thirst is Taking Over. I met some of you in Columbus and I hope to meet so many more of you. Come to Ashland and enjoy the greatest band on the planet. As your PANHEAD host I welcome you to my hometown and my beloved school. I must warn you that if you do not ROCK OUT!!! you will be expelled from AU and please do drive carefully because the Ashland Police can be real #@!* I would just rather have you leave your money with the merch people (tshirts are better than jail) then with the Ashland Municiple Court. Please drive carefull, my prayers are with you all and I just can't wait to
ROCK ASHLAND'S FACE OFF!!! If you have any questions about AU or Ashland or directions or anything
please do not hesitate to PM or e-mail me.

APANHEADSDADDY :)

I'm there, no question.

Now that you mention that there are no assigned seats, I'll feel better... and that there indeed will be a small area where we can stand. Makes it seem more 'skillet-concert-esque'.

I'll still call ahead and preorder tickets via phone (if it's allowable to do that). Can't wait for the concert! They're always fun.

I will be wearing a black Skillet Collide t-shirt with a grey and black flannel and blue jeans. I will have black nails, possibably black lipstick (probably not tonight) and my trademark black cross on the side of my face. With me is a hott asian chiq and Im not sure what she will be wearing. You will most likely see us with Steve.

And I agree with APANHEADSDADDY, if we catch you not rocking out, moshing, jumping up and down, singing along, and going nuts, you will proptly be taken off the property and beaten with a stick. Keep that in mind tonight. ;)

My friend Cassi was gonna come but she's not going to be able to now, but my sister and Sheena's friend Sarah will be there now cuz she's a student at Ashland and got her ticket free lol. My mom has blonde hair my sis and Sheena look like twins (seriously) and I'm Asian. I'm not sure what any of us will be wearing... clothes I guess lol.

That was probably the most awesome Skillet show I've seen to date. They were right on cue with everything from beginning to end. The played all the songs from the new album except Under My Skin, Energy, and Cycle Down. But the way they performed some of the new ones with the new intros was really awesome.

Here's my review, it's really long, I apologize.

The weather was freezing, very snowy, and the roads were slippery, we drove 1 hour but I could care less. We got there 3 hrs. early and guess who we see before we even open the doors! John. He was setting up some tables with 1 other guy and my sis points and says "Sarah!!! It's the lead singer!" He smiled and pointed back and we walked in and talked to him for like a second about how cold it was then went to get in line (we were 2nd). Then while we were waiting (it was me, my sister Jo, friend Sheena, and mom) guess who walks by ;D Lori. So my sis whispers "Sarah!" kinda loud and points and acts like she was playing drums to ask me if that was the drummer and I shook my yeah. So she goes up to her and shakes her hand and says "You're cool!!! Will you throw me one of your drumsticks after?" We all laughed at her and the 2 people in front of us did too and Lori says "We'll see!" My sis is 18 and isn't afraid to talk to people or yell or whatever but like 5 min. before they let us in she didn't even know any of their names I had to tell her like 100 times cause she kept forgetting. So when the band came on stage to set a few things up she yelled BEN!!! and he looked up and smiled and waved at her and she yelled at Korey too who also smiled and waved back. The concert was soooo AWESOME!!! We were front row. Throughout the whole concert my sis was cheering Lori on and Sheen was yelling at Ben that he rocked (she loved all his guitar solos LOL). He was going nuts on stage it was sooo sweet!!! After the concert Lori walked up to my sis and handed her one of her drumsticks. We got inline to meet them and they signed the stick for my sis, hat for Sheena, cd sleeve for me and a poster we took for our cousins. Lori was like "Hey girl what's up!?" to my sis and said hi to me then John shook hands with all of us and was teasing us and my mom (who was like the only old person there) that he saw us rocking out in the front row and thanked us for coming. Ben did this fancy spin thing with the stick before he handed it back to my sis and laughed at her (she had this stunned look on her face and said "Shoot, I can't do that!"). My mom and Korey talked some, she (my mom) told her she gets talked into going and dragged to all these concerts but they're really really fun. We were like the last people in the line so it was good cause we weren't rushed. We (Sheen, Jo and Me) got our pic taken together with all 4 of them. My sis gave me the drumstick (it wasn't for her in the first place she asked cause she knew I wanted one and wouldn't say anything. Isn't she so nice!!!).

I know! I'm really shy and don't talk a lot so my sis is loud enough for the both of us lol. She's usually the one that has to do the talking for me, it's a good thing she knows what I'm thinking or what I want to say LOL. I always have my hands in my pockets and stare at the floor when I'm around people haha it's a habit my parents are trying to break.

mandolinmonster and terrasin pretty much summed up the show. it was awesome! that solo before perfections is amazing. john does this thing with his bass and ben goes back and forth between 2 amps to get alternating feedback. fignernails also had a sweet intro. ben also ran off the stage and onto a chair they were using as a barricade down front at one point as well. we helped set up & tear down, which was fun. the load out, however, took forever :(. i was gonna drive back to columbus after the show but since the weather was so bad got a hotel room.

i got to meet APANHEADSDADDY, which was cool. i asked other people if they were on ph.org but no luck.

overall, a great show. lots of new stuff. can't wait for see spot rock!

Hey Minnow and all you crazy Panheads that where at Ashland Concert. It was nice to meet you all. Hey I am glad you and Terrasin got the Hotel room. If I would have had a place I would have put you all up. (we are living with my folks). I was praying for you all to get home safe. The band was great but the nonpanheads in the crowd could have been a little more excited. I am a bit disapointed in my hometown folks. Oh well we will make radical Panheads out of them. I get the feeling that Skillet will get asked back to this campus in due time. It was great when Ben jumped off of the stage. I nearly touched his guitar. Lori was hitting the drums so hard I thought she was going to break them.
My brother and niece came with me for the first time and they will be going with me to more concerts. My brother bought his daughter two CD's Collide and AY.
This is so very exciting!!
Cannot wait to see you all again at the next Ohio concert.
