Out of that list definitely This Means War, but I also like Lost in Time and Space and the live cd of the Beat the System Tour in Greenville, NC.

And for those of you Petra haters out there just remember that without groups like Petra, Stryper, and all those other hair bands, music would not be what it is today. And Petra was just as good as any of those other hair bands.

Peace

Agreed. Without Petra, Christian music would not be what it is today.

I love the song Beyond Belief. I think that may be the theme song of my life:).

I love Clean and Adonai, which album was that?

I can't remember the songs on On Fire!, but I like the album when it came out. Here's me in my On Fire! T-shirt. This was in 1989 (hence, the poofy hair), I was 17, and I got to go to the concert that year!

Funny, I thought there was more to music than Christian bands. He said 'Music would not be what it is today', music is a lot more than CCM.

i know there is more to music than christian bands. im sure he's not saying that petra changed the course of ALL music...because they didn't really...but christian-wise, they broadaned the style alot wider for christian bands and because of them we have the christian music we have today. you have to agree on that.

I've never heard Petra, although from what I've heard about them I agree completely that they were pretty influential in CCM.

What I was really saying was that without the hairbands music would not be the same. That includes Petra, Stryper (who in their day was quite a big crossover artist. I have a friend who was really excited to hear that Stryper was going to be at Creation this year cause she used to listen to them before she became a christian), Motley Crue, Poison, etc. However, Petra did change the christian music seen a great deal as well. I've heard them equated to Larry Norman, the father of christian rock n' roll. Anyway...

For me, it's a toss up between No Doubt, This Means War and Not of This World (i was surprised that wasn't on the list)... I have older siblings who were raised with Petra, so I know them, and i do enjoy them.
