First, I'm sorry that I implied that you were dressing immodestly. It was a bad assumption on my part.

Back to the point, I'm not going to say the the guys are justified when they are around girls who are dressed immodestly, but that doesn't mean those girls aren't guilty of tempting the guys. Just as you said, every guy should be held responsible for his actions, but every girl should also be held responsible for her actions, which includes the clothes they choose to wear.

exactly, it takes both ends of the equation assuming responsibility. for example - to care about others more than me to where i wouldn't even think of wanting to hurt someone or cause them to stumble.

and caring for people on that level shouldn't be based on whether you are a guy or girl. :)

Sigh, today was my first day back at school, I'm finally a senior (YES, one year left), but I've forgotten how immodest girls dress. It's very sad how more and more younger people are dressing immodestly. Last year's group of sophomores dressed pretty bad, but there are even more this year. It's depressing.

God help us all, and He will ;D

Dear Lord, please be with us guys, as we start another school year. Give us strength, give us your strength, to resist temptation, to look away, to keep our thoughts pure. With you we can do it Lord, with you we can persevere. Please be with us, conquer this evil for us Lord, for if we stand alone to fight it, we'll fail, and fail miserably. I thank you Dear God for what you've done for us thus far, please continue. It's in your son, Jesus' name that I pray, Amen.

Pray for the guys that the girls don't dress immodestly, ok, but also so that the blockheads who say inappropriate things to girls do not say them. Such comments are not needed.

Thanks Morgan for reminding us to pray about this! I have been "wringing my hands" trying to think of how to handle a situation involving two teachers that are breaking the dress code in a very inappropriate way at my children's school. Thanks for reminding me...I need to take it to God first!

Heh, guys are idiots. Most guys, anyway. They don't know how to treat a girl at all, they say whatever they want to, no matter how crude it is, whatever they think might get them a girlfriend or higher status among their friends. Heh, guess I'll stop ranting here.

Alorian, you are totally correct. School was fun, although there was plenty of foul language I heard... but the worst part was, of course, the skimpiness of the clothes the girls wore... but I did use my God given ability to look away though :D ... sadly, I'll have 180 more school days of dealing with it... *sigh*

Yeah...where has chivalry gone? ???

And Sully...I can tell that you really do love God...I don't think you'll have too much of a problem looking away. Plus, I'll keep praying for you guys. :)

Hey, not that this isn't an unpleasant bunny trail... but we already have a topic for Chivalry.

Chivalry (http://www.panheads.org/boards/showthread.php?t=169&page=1&pp=15&highlight=chivalry)

before we completely divert this train of thought, I'd like to add one thing. Chivalry isn't dead, but it appears to be either more subtle or used to gain "Brownie points" on purpose (at least where I am).
