Eventhough I am a freshmen in College, I have felt burdened about my old High school youth group. And since I have posted on the AY Garden, One of the other Jr high sponsors (I work in Jr High) said the same thing durring a Jr High Staff meeting prayer request time.

Here is what I said in the AY garden:
My Church had a great youth group, until a few months ago. It started even before the old Youth Pastor left, we had lost sevral high school sponsors, who were great at high school ministries. The problem is that the people who have replaced them are new and they are parents of some of the students. And the thing is that they are acting like parents. This is causing some of the students to want to leave, looking for another church (some might say that this is a good thing, and it would be, if there was a diffrent issue). That is one of the problems, another is that the high school worship stinks. I am for people worshiping with what ever skill (or lack there of) to worship God, for God's glory. BUT the problem is that the worship leaders are not doing a good job, and it is causing the time of worship to be boring, distracting, and almost a chore (it's what you have to do). And I have a feeling that some of the students are trying to make a political move to remove the 2 seniors that are on the student leadership board out of their leadership position. and I wouldn't mind if the people accusing were honorable or the seniors were cruel and bad leaders, but it is almost the opposite! The Seniors (I know them pretty well) are good Godly young men, and the ones who are trying to get them out are gossips! All these things are turning a great youth group into a poor one. (I know, that was a bit of a rant, but that is the way I feel about it)

to sum it all up, Please pray that the leaders will relax and not be so strict, that either the worship team gets streighten out or that a new worship team/band will come together, and that the students will get along and live in peace with each other. beacuse I have a feeling that this high school group could do amazing things, if we didn't have these hinderances.

It doesn't seem like you are in a church body. So that is the first thing that I think the leadership should look for. They need to be in a body or under a body.

A lot of prayer is required, but it should be by ppl God placed with a burden inside the community. There needs to be openness, so that the Holy Spirit can heal.

Division is caused by carnality - little baby Christians. And it should be ministered to. It's not about them or you or ne one else, but ppl need to be exposed, so that the Spirit may operate.

I keep going back and forward with my thoughts on my youth group. some times I think it is falling appart, other time it seems like everything is going alright or is getting better. things are still a little uncertain at the time.
