Read the article to find out what I mean:
Damien Chrysler to promote a 'lingerie bowl' on pay per view during the superbowl (http://capwiz.com/fof/issues/alert/?alertid=4381231&type=CU)

[This is totally disgusting, Lord help us. And by the way, please let you complaints be known in a godly, loving manner, yet firm and uncompromising.

ALRIGHT! AND ONLY $30! *looks at his penny jar*

Seriousely, I love it when Xians get into stuff like this. First off, it's not going to be on public access TV, you have to pay for it, just like you would need to pay for the Playboy Channel and Penthouse. So the little kiddies eyes will be just fine as long as daddy doesn't order it.

One of the things that bother me most about ministries is that they are just like politicians, their focus is always on other things except where it needs to be. We always find our tax money on things like finding out that the toilet seat is actually cleaner than your kitchens cutting board (Yes, that's actually scientifically true). So to add to the finger pointing, ministries dig up every little thing about every company they can find where something is wrong.

Now something like this Lingerie Show, who really cares? You can open a Sears mag and see the exact same thing. Instead of trying to get people to NOT watch this, they just gave it more promotion. I never even heard anything about this before this link was posted. but on the other end, this will be no different than the Victorias Secret Fashion Show that was on here just a few weeks ago. I watched part of that and lost interest very quickly cause it just aint my thing. (But I sure had fun takin heat from my fiance' about it. ;) ) Granted, the purpose of this program is clearly not pure, but I just dislike when Xians get involved and start blasting it because to worldly people, it just continues to make us look like something they would never want to be a part of...

TerraSin makes a good point. If Christians would stop attacking the world we might actually get somewhere in witnessing. After all the cack I've gotten from both sides I decided to not insult or moan at anyone doing anything I believe is wrong, I will say that I disagree with it yes and give my reasons but I won't attack them for it. Never seen Jesus attacking the prostitutes did u?

I personally think that the core of all stuff like this is Evolution.
If we are all animals then why not slaughter babies before they're born, why not allow two men to marry, why not show half naked women playing American football, after all there's no God and since there isn't a God there's no rules or judgement so we can do as we please. *Major sarcasm in that last paragraph but u get my point.*

I agree with TerraSin. by broadcasting this link and complaining bitterly about this, we're drawing more attention to it. Again, if we are constantly being "bible thumpers" and bashing people over the heads with our bibles, we'll never get anywhere with witnessing. It is absolutely pathetic, but if people don't see it there, they're gonna see it somewhere else. I think that there's only so nuch that one person can do to change things, and even if everyone gives Dodge their criticism, i doubt they're gonna change their minds :-

that was highly redundant, but it's my opinion

ok but that doesn't mean we are supposed to watch it! cause the Bible says whatever is good, whatever is pure, whatever is holy think on these things! and obviously girl walking around playing football in lineage are just waiting for guys to undress them! and commiting idolity in ur mind is just as mind as doing it for real! also im not for going out and pointing fingers but there is a point were we need to say enough is enough. like for exapmle when abortion first came out some people probaly r saying what ur saying don't point fingers and blah blah blah blah blah and look what is happen just look!! 45 million have died SO FAR! and when porn started people said aww don't point fingers well look at all the marriages its destroyed! and then pray in school "don't point fingers itll only make it worse" well umm look around sweeties um i think the sucide/divorce/murder rate just tripled! well golly gee(being sarcastic) i bet taking prayer out of schools sure helped! and being lazy and not STANDING UP for what we belive in is why people so critizie us! and omg who cares if they call us Bible thuppers!!!!!don't u realize what this is doing it goes further and further until all values r taken from society!im sry i sound harsh but... o well

I wasn't saying that i care about being called a bible thumper, i was just saying that if we're constantly shoving the bible up people's noses, they're never gonna wanna pay attention to anything we have to say. i think that we can take a stand and make our opinions known, but we don't have to be the radical, sign-carrying, rock throwing, screaming rioters. we can just state our opinion calmly, because yelling and complaining aren't gonna get us anywhere. And the fact is, it's human nature to want to do exactly the opposite of what we're told. What does a little kid do when mommy says don't touch the stove? He goes and touches the stove. You can't make anyone do anything by force, because they'll just resent you. Complaining so much that the Dodge people get annoyed and cancel it won't change their minds permanently. they'll try it again sooner or later.

If i contradicted myself at all, or if that paragraph was impossible to understand, i'm sorry.

ya i see what ur saying. there is just a balance to everythng and we need to find that balance and im not sayign we should go shove Bibles down their throats... but like i no its different in different areas so its hard to discuss these things but were i lives the Christians are being lazy and not doing a thing while we're getting the world shoved down our thoats... but still back to the topic i do think girls in lingage is wrong cause just ask urself why do u want to see girls in skimpy clothing when ur gettimg married lets say.. do u really wanted to let that stuff get into ur mind? whay not save ur eyes for ur future spouse good thingys lead to better things and worse things lead to worse things its just fact no matter how much u don't want to belive it. ever seen the matrix?(watching it right now) and remeber when he looks at the girl in the red dress? well when he did that luckily for him it was a computer training programe caus ehe would be dead just like things(like those girls) can desracte us from God, our spouse, family ,friends whats important then the enemy(while ur off guard) can seek up and up things in ur mind that are worse than u ever intended.belive me im preaching at myslef to we all need help in this area

i see what you're saying, but i also see the other side of the coin.

in my mass media class this semester, my teacher said that if you want a film/show/newspaper/whatever to earn a lot of money, have people protest it. not only is it free publicity but it also makes people wonder what's so bad about it & to see it just to make their own opinions on it. i know that at least part of that worked for me. i didn't know about this program until i read the link.

so we need to figure out where to draw the line between protesting & bringing attention to it & trying to change things for the better.

ya i see what ur saying... just have to find the right line.. which is extremely difficult to do but i don't think we should give them encouragement by watching it.......

i'm totally with ya on that. who ever said we need to watch it!! that would be the exact opposite of what we need to do. :P

It's all basic psychology. When I was working promotional work for an outreach ministry, both good and bad promotion was a plus. The more people who didn't like what we did, the more it sparked their interest to check it out and learn more about it. So it was a positive negitive. Of course, you will have your hardcore haters as well, you can't avoid that. Lord knows we have enough of them who are Xians. But all promotion can be good promotion. Depends what you do with it.
