hey guys. i bought a friend the new skillet cd, and her mom's more than likely going to question the album cover. I remember John Cooper saying that it signifies something, but don't remember what he said, and i can't find the link. If any of you know the link that gives that info, it would be greately appreciated. ;) you all have a lovely night. God bless.

hey Dan,

yeah, the new album artwork has been questioned [my personal opinion is that it is skillet's best cover artwork ever...].

on the collide thread we have discussed the cover - i know it is a long thread, so here are the specific pages where it is discussed.

one (http://www.panheads.org/boards/board=5;action=display;threadid=5;start= 210)

two (http://www.panheads.org/boards/board=5;action=display;threadid=5;start= 180)

lemme see if i can find the interview that i am thinking of...where john talks abou it.

[if someone finds it before me, feel free to post it.]

hope this helps your friend's mom out. :)

i found it. :) but it was actually the email that John sent out on the 14th of Nov. here's what he said.

"There have been a lot of questions about the album cover of Collide. I wondered if people would have questions, so we waited before talking about it. The symbolism is very simple: the mannequin represents a lifeless body, and the wings and snake represent the struggle of good and evil. We are struggling with the fact that our faith as believers is colliding with our fears as humans. The bible teaches us that we are new creations. If we are, then why do we feel scared in this world and why do we make mistakes? We are sometimes going to question and feel fear, but what matters is how we respond to it. The bible says that we have not been given a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. This power in our lives can cause us to rise above our circumstances, and even our own humanity."

& since the question has been answered, i'm gonna lock this thread. :) we don't need 20 billion threads on this same topic. ;)
