Hey panheads.

I've got a handful of Alkeme CDs left so if you want one, send me an email and I'll send you specific ordering instructions. We accept checks or money orders [cash at your own risk]. The CDs are 13 bucks and I'll send them out as soon as your check clears. Or the same day I receive your payment if it's a money order.

Thanks!

rockchick_panhead

what are they?

theelectric3
12-09-2003, 10:57 AM
rockchick_panhead- you mean what is alkeme?

alkeme was a band started by korey, 2 of her sisters, and a friend. they did alkeme for awhile but then they decided to stop. Korey was in Skillet during the cd [made in 99]...they probably realized it wasn't going to work, as much as they wanted it to, and ended it.

you can read a little more here (http://www.connexionsmusic.com/features/spotlight/32skillet07.html)

korey was the lead vocalist/keyboard player, lori was the drummer.

it is a good cd [IMO]. not hard like Skillet...but great none-the-less. korey has a beautiful voice, and you get to see her in some action on this cd.

that's cool that you still have some chrish. :) if anyone wants one, i advise you get them while you can.

"Will you be there" was actually written originally for Alkeme (although they never recorded it). Korey wrote all the music and lyrics, so it's really worshipful and according to them, somewhat like Sarah Mclachlan ( I personally don't really see it, but hey, that's what they say.)

Like Tracy said, the band was made up of (L to R): Kim (Korey's sister), Lori, Korey, Kal (A friend), and Rosie (Korey's sister).

And like TreeHill mentioned, Cooper does guest electric guitar on the record.

It's a really classy cd...definitely worth getting while the getting's good. ;)

well, ya might want to learn something else. they aren't sisters. :) Korey & Rosie (the interim keyboardist & another member of Alkeme) are sisters. Lori is not related to Korey or Rosie. they are just friends.

it's funny. i used to be obsessed with Skillet, all i talk about was members fromthe band. gosh now i'm just glad i found new bands to like. Evanecene ROCKS! don't get me wrong i LOVE Skillet but i think some of you guys are just a little too much in love with them.

That's how I am. Right, I love Skillet, their ministry and music, but I don't go to a thousand concerts a year to see them play or know every little inside joke. I don't know every quote John ever said and who is related to who. Sure, that'd be all fine and dandy candy...*shrugs* I'm just happy if I can make it to one concert a year. In fact, I have better things to do than to sit and chat about this and that and yadda yadda. I definitely support Skillet, (and would love to hear Alkeme, *trying to stay on topic*) but my lives do not revolve around people.

Too bad Evanescence is no more. I havn't had a chance to talk to Ben yet but ya kinda knew from day one that it wasn't gonna last with those two. They will finish the tour without Ben I am sure, but seeing as Ben was the main writer for the band, i don't see any sort of future for them.
