I can't put my finger on it, but it reminds me of some other band quite alot. Maybe it is Nickelback, I dunno.

Yeah it does sound a little nickelback-ish. I'm not sure about this song. I miss Skillet's hardcore sound from Collide. I hope the rest of the cd is more like "Rebirthing", "Whispers" and "The Last Night" rather than this.

*Listens again* Ugh, way too Nickleback-ish...c'mon guys...you're better than that...

eh, I like it. I like a good acoustic sound every now and again. Gotta have balance. I mean, you know you've still got the harder songs- Whispers, Rebirthing, The Last Night, Comatose, Falling Inside the Black, Better Than Drugs... I mean the proportions are still toward the harder songs, so I'm ok with the quiet ones. Its not the best they've ever done, but its not bad.

I think it's ok, I mean, I love the harder stuff, but you do have to have it in proportion on the cd! Besides, ANYTHING Skillet does is awesome :)

However, seeing as I have yet to hear the rest of Comatose, I think that I am more excited about having a new clip released every four days ^_^!!!!!!!

Yeah right on, from what ive heard the new album has a good mix of hard & soft music just like AY & invincible and a bit of collide cooked up all together lol ;D-flame_boi

Well Collide also had slower songs on it like A little More.

That's true. I really love the slow songs from Collide too. Maybe this song will grow on me once I get the cd, it just sounded a little boring at first.

Well... let me be the first to say I LOVE Older. The only Nickleback song I'm familiar with is Learn the Hard Way, and this song has that beat hands down. And while Chad Kroger has a cool voice, John has one AMAZING voice. This is Skillet... always trying something new, always nailing it with a solid effort.

I agree. It's a mellowed out rock and I like it. Even though it does sound like Nickelback, Skillet puts their own twist on this song and they make it their own. I love the guitar intro in it. I can already play it on the guitar. As soon as I heard it I started to figure it out on the guitar and it didn't take me long. It's a relaxing song to just drive down the road with. I totally won't be comatose on October 3rd, lol.

Sounds pretty good, though I had to listen to it at low volume, since it's nearly 5am here - I don't think my neighbors want to hear my Bose speakers and subwoofer this early in the morning! :D

Well, I like the song. I don't really get everyone's Nickleback references since I've only heard, like, two of their songs. I've listened to "Older" I think twice now and I really do like it, especially lyrically.

It's funny, they wrote this song before they started working with their producer.

I'm telling you, it's Skillet. If you listen really close, the guy singing sounds exactly like John Cooper. Seriously--when I was listening to the song, I was sitting there thinking to myself, "Wow, that sounds exactly like John Cooper." That's exactly what I said.

I said the same thing about "Smile Again," though, so what do I know?

I think Amelia said it best, how am I not meant to like a skillet song? And btw iv'e only heard about half a nickleback song.

No one is saying it isn't Skillet. They're just saying it sounds like Nickleback lol.

Umm go_home_red was being a bit sarcastic I think... And I think I can see the Nickelback comparison, not on the voice, but on the harmonies it sounds very similar to photograph.

But IMO John's voice makes up for it, because his voice is so unique. You can find similar voices, but I've never heard a voice quite like it.

I think they keep editing it, because Whispers has changed back and forth a few times with the 'In the Dark', too...

Those are the full "correct" names of the songs. Whispers In The Dark, Older I Get. I guess they just got use to shortening them already like pretty much every other song. ;)
