To give some others ideas on how they can help promote the band, what have you done? How do you tell people?

well if ya hadnt know b4 I am a heavy gal and lotta junk in the trunk... I usually hate those jogging pants with sayings on them... well im a hypocrit.. I made some with Skillet on one cheek and Comatose on the other.
And went to town blaring collide(I know wrong cd)but dont have the new one as of yet.
And went to 2 walmarts and 2 Christain book stores requesting them getting the new cd.
I am also going to get Walmart super center to make me a shirt of Skillet(apic I took)and put Comatose on it too.

That is fantastic! XDDD

I put stickers on my car. I posted about it in every MySpace and LiveJournal post Ive made since September. I've been nonstop talking about it to everyone I meet :) I've made a few shirts, one that promotes Panheads and one for Comatose. And I emailed a couple of those far away radio stations requesting the new singles LOLOL

For me it's been word-of-mouth promotion-wise. This evening I've had two conversations when Skillet has come up during the discussion, the first person being a new-comer to them and wondering about the band's different styles relating to each record. The second person who I talked to actually listened to parts of Comatose and she adored it, and she talked about how spectacular this is in regards to symphonic rock and how many people love that type of music. She is a music composition major at my old uni, so I think that's a pretty high honour.

I've also told my sister about the record, and she's going to be buying it soon. And I have my pre-order that finally arrived, which will be given to some other friends of mine who I introduced to Skillet.

So yes, a big promoter tactic is word-of-mouth. It isn't posters or going to different record stores, but it's mightily effective. Then those people you talked to will talk to other people, and who knows how many others will be introduced to Comatose?

Between AY and Collide, i got probably 6 or so friends into Skillet, or at least got them interested in certain songs, all through word of mouth like Riz.

I would write it on my hubbys truck but I think it would be a problem...

Personally, I asked my parents for the Comatose CD, then I transferred all the songs to my iPod, which I take to school everyday. So I make all my friends listen to it without telling them who it is (because one of my friends already knew about them and disliked them). Then I ask what they think, and if they like it, I tell them the band name & stuff... And make them like it more & more. ;]

well my kids b-days are April and May and they have skating parties and u know what music they (my kids) asked for them to play?
So we go 2 hrs for the party and alot of the kids and parents ask about certain songs ... so we gladly tell them who they are and give them some links to buy the cd online if they dont have the cds locally.

So my kids are helping promote Skillet threw their parties :)
I know its not much but when u touch a person or a couple then they pass it along ... and most the parties are crowded by school friends and in classes its 30 kids. (not that all came to the party tho)

Anytime my phone rings it's Skillet. :) I have The Last Night, Those Nights, Rebirthing, Falling In The Black, & Whispers In The Dark as ringtones, & I have Comatose as a ringback tone. So if you call me, you hear Comatose, & if you're around me when my phone rings, you hear one of the other 5 songs I have on there. :D And almost every time someone goes, "I LOVE that song, who sings it?" And my job is done!

This is going to sound really weird, but it's actually a really effective way of promoting Skillet. I got bored yesterday & started writing on my arm, & making little doodles on my hands & such. Well, on my left arm I wrote: "This is the last night you'll spend alone / Look me in the eyes so I know you know / I'm everywhere you want me to be" I forgot about it & went to work. Every single person I talked to asked me what it meant & I got the chance to tell them about Skillet, & about their concert here on tuesday night!! Three of them went & bought tickets to the concert after I told them about it! So I'm going to start writing Skillet lyrics on my arms more often!!

and momma likes the music till she finds out its "religious music"..she feels bad getting down to it, so now all i do is sit and watch her and not open my BIG mouth..then she get weary of me then yells its church music isnt it..then I grin and say does it sound like it...and she says Skillet didnt sound like church music either...and I had to laff cuz it was the Older Skillet cd....so now she just wont ask who it is, but will kinda groove to it unless she sees me watching.
