I can't edit my posts. I went to edit my post in the awards thread and it wouldn't let me. I looked and couldn't edit any of my past posts.

I have the same problem.

EDIT: I know this looks kind of ironic because I can obviously edit my posts. But only for a certain amount of time, then the "edit" button disappears. I want to edit my post in the awards voting thread but it won't let me.

it looks like editing posts is limited to one day after the post. I don't remember if there was a limit before this latest version of vBulletin or not. I'd entertain adjusting the limit if it makes sense to, but I'm not sure I like leaving it wide open.

because it can lead to very confusing conversations... if the earlier posts in a thread have been edited substantially, it's much more difficult to reestablish the context within which the later posts were written.

were you just curious of my reasoning or do you have a reason for wanting it?

That and edit earlier posts that were uncalled for or something, and the more popular reason of editting posts in the awards thread so that people can change votes before they're tallied

ahh, well that makes sense. I've removed the time limit on editing for the benefit of voting in the PH awards. After all that is finished, I'll probably put it back in place and then search for a more permanent solution.
