Today I was cleaning the rain gutters when I noticed that my roof needed some other repairs...when i climbed on up to do them my feet slipped and i fell.
I fractured my right heel...they put on a splint and wrapped it until i go to a orthopedic specialist on monday. It could have much much worse....the ER doc said he had seen people who landed like i did shatter the vertebrae in their back...so I thank God it wasnt that bad.
I am hoping that they can put a walking cast on it soon so i wont miss too much work.
I am in a lot of pain so any prayers will be appreciated...and i will try to keep you informed on how goes it oh and btw...the old saying is right...the fall didnt hurt but the sudden stop did!!

Well, I guess it's better than
"It's not death I fear, it's the 30 seconds beforehand."
Glad you survived. Watch lots of old Monty Python while you recover ;)

Well I went to the orthopedic doctor today and he pretty well verified what the ER doc said...the heel is fractured and it will take about 2 months to full heal. I did get one of those cast that i can put on and off. I am off work all this week but since i can sit on my job he is going to let me try and return next week.
Thanks again for all your prayers...i am believing that God will heal it faster then 2 months.
Thanks again and blessings

Praise the Lord for protecting you from really hurting yourself worse, and for the good report of getting to go back to work!
i will agree with you for a fast (and complete) recovery. :)

Aw John that's aweful. I don't know MD disabilities law but in CA once you've been off work a week you can get state disability. I saw the pic and that's one bruised and swollen apendage. Take Care and stay off of it as much as possible. I'll pray for you for sure.

Update for anyone who cares...went back to the doc on thursday and the x rays showed that it is healing well its still swelling some but he said it may keep doing that up to one year:o .Today is 5 weeks since the accident and he told me to start walking on it some at 6 weeks so hopefully the worst is behind me.
Thanks again for your prayers

I've been praying, John. I had an accident back in January, and it took eight or nine months for all of the swelling to go down. (And I thought my teeth were going to be out of place permanently!)

Hey John thank you I've been lurking waiting for an update. Good to hear your healing well. Take care and God Bless.
