Haha, I've been feeling like we should celebrate Jesus in His giving us all that is good. I've been noticing a very somber note (*on the boards, and elsewhere)in the air lately, and God kind of told me today "Why stop? Why stop celebrating just because the weather changed? Nothing's stopping you!"

Here are some of the things that make me happy:

1.When Saudi women unveil without fear

2.the way you feel when you aren't sick anymore

3.Understanding that darkness isn't something you wear on the outside, but it comes from inside your heart. Therefore, it doesn't matter what you wear, as long as your heart is happy!

4.penguins...because they look funny

5.favorite colours

6.It's a Wonderful Life moments

7.When you finally see yourself the way God sees you (I can't stress that enough)

8.imagination and good dreams rather than hopelessness and nightmares

9. inhaling in cold air when you have a breath mint in your mouth

10.healed ears after they've gotten ripped (yes...that's happened to me)

11.notes on your phone

12.art and creativity

13.the feeling of warmth after you come through the warm door

14.seeing things (even sad things) the way the Father does

15.dancing

16.the smell of inscence

17.soft things

18.freezing bubbles

19.when you stop doing things that are harmful to you

20.loving other people

awww Rachael...this is a great thread ;D

maybe we all need to jusst sit down and try and think of some things that really just make us smile and feel good inside...life can be horrible and unfair...even David knew how much life sucked sometimes...

Psalm 42:6, "Yet I am standing here depressed and gloomy, but I will meditate upon Your kindness to this lovely land where the Jordan River flows and where Mount Hermon and Mount Mizar stand."

...but He chose not to dwell on the bad but meditate on the good :)

I agree, this is a great thread.

Having fun with friends. Being serious and having good talks and goofing off and being silly.

what I've been noticing is that once school starts up, everyone seems to be very focused on homework, and the dreariness around them. This is kind of a reminder (to myself also)that those things are not what life is all about.

My friend Kelly might come to my house for Thanksgiving, she has no family in Michigan. That makes me happy that she wants to come over :) She's awesome

REAL love.
I love my friend David for saying this about his girlfriend, who is my friend, Laura: "I absolutely love Laura. I thought when I first met her, I could never love her more. But I do now. I love the part of her that makes her her. Her body will grow old, as will mine, but that part of her I'll always love."

That was beauty.

Yea, that is an awesome feeling, especially if youve been on a plane for about 7 or 8 hours and cant wait to stretch your legs :o . or after...about 26 hours of fly time and layovers, and finally getting to your destination...even better, laying down in the hotel bed (dang small european beds...) and sleeping for a verrrrrry long time. waking up then, to think "woah! im in *insert foreign, overseas country here* and no one speaks english!!!" its pretty...eh, overwhelming.

Crystal. She's very sweet. She goes to my church but I haven't hung out with her alone until tonight. We just went to her place and watched a movie, but it was fun. I told her that Karl and I broke up and she said to me as she dropped me off "Call me if you need anything. I know that's not fun to go through."

It's so simple but it meant to much. That's the exact kind of thing I need to hear right now. Just to know that someone cares for me and will help me if I need it.

1. Finding the exact song that seems to fit my mood like two puzzle pieces finding their mate.

2. Deep bubbly laughter in which you are not being polite by trying to laugh or trying to attract attention by laughing, but laughing so hard because you, individually, think that this is funny.

3. When my sister says something so amazingly funny.

4. Affirmation by others of something that you always doubted yourself in, but finally realize that you can do.

5. Letters in the mail..handwritten and so lovely.

6. Listening to someone read Anne of Green Gables.

7. The small days when you stumble on something that makes you hopeful for days when your loneliness will no longer be.
