So how do people feel about having pets. Do you think it is good in a way or do you think there are downsides. I think it is totally awesome to have a pet God gave us animals so take care of them. Well what do you think?

I love pets..Honestly, when I'm older and have a house(i really want a ranch) I'm gonna have at least 4 dogs, maybe 1 cat(not sure, i go between hating and loving those things), and I'm gonna have a few horses..
<3 horses.

Pets are okay. I mean they're nice to have around to play with etc. but when the work comes around it's just like taking care of a baby. And at this age, I definitely DON'T need any children :-D

I do have a dapple dachshund named Oreo, he's the coolest dog in the world...

I love pets. I have a cat, and she is so sweet, but kinda skittish. She meows all the time, like she's having a conversation with you, especially early in the morning. Only downside is that she sheds a lot, and she has a habit of pulling out carpet fuzz and whatnot from under furniture and leaving it on the floor in little piles that have to get vacuumed up. But I really love my cat.

I think all pets are freakin annoying! Why have the added responsibility? We have one dog- AMber- who is always in the way ... and just plain annoying!

Agreed. Cats are really smelly. Dogs at least eat their own feces. :P

Actually, I never drool when I sleep in bed, just when I fall asleep on hard surfaces like a school desk. And I once fell asleep sitting up and I drooled into my lap, which was odd. But anyway . . .

yah...but the long haired kitties
are horrible shedders
plus, unless you have a really small inside dog, there isn't going to be a lot of shedding in the actual house

Eh, my cat does shed an awful lot. I have to vacuum frequently because of it. (She hates the vacuum. So it's so funny to see her look all freaked out when it's her fault to begin with.)

for some reason when ^^^ said her cat was freaked out from the vaccuum it reminded me of my dads cat, Harley. If Harley gets scared, or maybe she just likes it, she'll go lay in the tub.

i go to take a shower, she's in the tub. and then she mrows all pitifully, like "i was here first, why do I have to leave??"

lol, she is a cat i like.

I like cats as long as they're not cranky. When I lived with my parents, they used to have a cat and when I wore barefeet in the house it would lick my toes. It was gross. Their other cat is really nice though, very mild tempered and affectionate.

But I really want a puppy! A basset hound puppy.

I have 9 dogs, (5 are coonhounds), 1 Cat, 1 Bunny, and 1 Ferret.

Pets are great. 5 of my dogs are not pets though, they are sporting/working dogs.

I have a 14 year old black lab that we're going to have to put down in a few hours. :-(

You know...she's been the best dadgum dog I've ever known...even if she was a supreme wuss. We got her one of those autofilling water bowls...she was so scared of it for weeks. At first she wouldn't drink from it at all and wouldn't come within 5 feet of it, then she'd run and hide from it when it made a gurgling noise as it refilled itself.

I'd own another puppy (she acted like a puppy until the very end) like her in a heartbeat.

Thats sad. :( I'd have a hard time putting my pet down.
