i hate Ms outlook, and recently i got MS office 2007, and i cant for the life of my configure Outlook. i have never used it prior to this. the issue isnt that i really want to use it, but that every time i click on an email link it automaticly tries to configure outlook, so even if i could just get the email link so i could copy it, i would be happy. i have gotten outlook configured with my hotmail account, but it says that hotmail now requires a subscription to outlook, and i dont want to pay. and any of my other email account will not configure with outlook. will it only configure with MS email accounts??? any help would be awesome!

I'm a Mac guy, but my knowledge is somewhat cross-compatible...
So whats it do when it automatically tries to configure? Does it ask you for stuff, or just do it?

it asks me the same questions, and it guides me through the configuration process. or tries to i should i say. outlook 2003 wasnt that bad, cause it would still show the email address, which is all i really want.

Used to have '03...Got rid of it? And I can't really figure anything out, but that could be since I don't have the program as far as I know. I'm pretty sure there are support forums out there, too.

What exactly are you using Outlook for, anyways? Lol. What email were you trying to use before? (Yahoo!, Hotmail, Gmail, ect)

i tired gmail, hotmail, and my college one. and i was using it for the request tool for Skillet. i didnt really want it, but it popped up every time i clicked on an email link, and wouldnt let me view the email address without configuring it first. that was the frustrating part.

Ok. Gmail doesn't work with pop (I think. There are two. Hotmail and Outlook are one and not the other), I don't think. But Hotmail does. Chances are your college one wasn't pop (or whatever it is), either

Hover over the e-mail link with your mouse. The bottom left corner of Internet Explorer (dunno where Firefox has it) will say:
Mailto:email.addy@here.com

IE -> Tools -> Internet Options -> Programs (tab)... for E-mail it is set for Outlook. You can set it to hotmail or other compatible programs.
However, I hate Outlook and I have tried to use it. It just seems slow and lunky compared to other e-mail options.

YES! another mac user! I'm not alone in this world of windows using panheads. :-P
No really. I believe if you wanted to copy the url into a web form like gmail, you can right click on the link (ctrl-click for all you lappy-top using mac users...Lamma...) and click "Copy target" or "Copy Link Location" I think it's listed as in IE. I can't check because I don't have a windows machine handy, but it's listed as "Copy Link" in OS X Safari (I'm using 10.4.9 on this machine)

I don't get it? And yes, I love Macs. I rarely use Windows. I only use one when there is no Mac available...Or if some game is somehow compatible with my junk heap of a PC...
And Will is a Mac guy? Sweetness!! I love you Will!! JK
